^^^this guy has the funniest signature. the light comes on when u have 2.5 gallons left, so u can still go about 60-80 miles or so depending where u are driving. i have gotten 431.8 miles on a tank and when i went to fill up i put it 14.28 gallons or something like that. ya it was kinda dying as i was pulling in. to everyone who puts "cheap" gas in. put chevron or shell in(with the fuel injector cleaner) it may seem more expensive, but u get almost 30 extra miles per tank. that is equivalent to one gallon, rather than using the cheap gas to save 2$ spend the extra money and u actually save more money. 3.39(i live in socal, GRRR) > 2.50 i would save by putting in the cheap stuff. sorry people always ask why i only put chevron in and they can't wrap their heads around this concept.

If you didn't have your odometer and speedo re-calibrated you may be going the same distance but your gauges say otherwise. What most people do not understand is that automakers calibrate the gauges based upon the size wheels and tires that will be on the vehicle at the time of sale. As long as the distance from the ground to the center of the axle is unchanged, the gauges should still be right, should that change the gauges would now be incorrect. Just an FYI

when do I fill up? Today, I paid $30, too At one time $21 would've gotten me the same amount of gas

Actually, I will be pumping on May 15th. I just read about some facebook group about "don't pump gas on may 15th zomg111oneone"

people are idiots

The May 15th boycott is nonsense...

Getting everyone to not buy gas in, say 2007 might make a difference, but a 1 day boycott won't make a difference. Even if you could get 100% awareness, take out the people that don't drive, the people that wouldn't normally need to fill up that day, and the ones that will regardless due to their jobs depending on it, and the potential effect is likely negligible.

My light usually comes on at 310 miles. I drive 95% highway miles with a stick shift and lead foot. When the light comes on you have 2.5 gallons to spare, giving you 50+ miles to find a gas station. I have gone at least 350 on a full tank

i go until my light turns on. i hate wasting time at gas stations. this way it gives me a few extra days to go rather than filling up at the 1/4 mark.

Sometimes I fill it up when its on the very last line, few times when its touching and once when it was under. I really dont care, there are way too many gas stations in NY, I can just pass one and find another in 5 minutes, no biggie.

Actually, in place like NY that are cold and humid, letting the tank go empty is bad.
Condensation gets in the tank when it's empty, or near so.
Not a good idea.
