Default When to switch to winter tires

Right now there is salt on the road and minor snow. Im wondering how much my nice summer wheels can take since the man is still mounting my stocks to the blizzacks and if putting my winter tires on now with so little snow is a good idea. Suggests would be great. I do rinse my wheels off every day though when they get in contact with salt.

I'd do it as soon as you see the first snow. I don't know how the weather is in PA, but in Chicago, it could be nice one day and and a blizzard the next. The last thing i would want to be doing would be replacing tires when its 20 degrees outside, and about to snow.
you said you rince the wheels off every day, so i don't think your in danger of salt. Just remember to do a good job because that darn salt gets into the tiniest spaces.

I changed my wheels almost a month ago. Better safe then sorry. Probably gona get some snow tires goin soon. My car couldn't make it up an icy bridge during the snow we had last Sunday. Wasn't a major storm either. I hate the stock Yokos

hmm thanks..I was just thinking on the two sides of things, I heard if its to warm your winter tires wear FAST and then again salt and my wheels concerned me. But I doubt it will get much warmer now so I will get them on this week. I have to call the shop and see if they mounted em yet. blizzacks are expensive for stock wheel size
