Go post somewhere else....your lack of knowledge in the realm of parts value and availability is so off base I wonder if you even own a Scion at this point.

Actually, that is very wrong. You must not understand much of economics. If LLC and the other grill makers charged around $300, that would be price gouging. However, there are cheaper alternatives so no one can FORCE you to pay too much for an aftermarket grill.

Anyone can buy, or even make (unlike gas) their own grills for relatively little money. You want to have the exclusive and rare RS grill? You have to pay for it. Collector's item.

So is Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, Jaguar, Bentley, Ferrari, etc all price gouging because they all are vehicles but cost much more than the cheapest cars? There are reasons things are more expensive. Quality, exclusivity, rarity, horsepower. Some people value some of these traits more than others. This is what makes us people and not drones.

a grill has ABSOLUTELY NO AFFECT on the car whatsoever. Its like the carbon fiber B pillar applique, the cupholder led's or the alum door sill inserts.

overpriced RICE. I would rather rip out my stock grill and have none than get ___-raped by paying more than 200 for an RS grill. But then again, i'm straight, so....

Ummm.. all of those examples you used change the appearance of the car. That's an effect.

Overpriced? Maybe. Rice? I hardly think so. Driving around without any grille, that's ricy.

You are really showing an unflattering side of yourself. You seem so angry, so upset ....and judging from your last post it implies almost that you are making a derogetory statement about others preferences of which you know nothing of.

My only guess here is that you are new and don't really understand the dynamics of this community in which you speak. You appear to be oblivious to common respect and rational. We are a community that is here to help eachother.....not slander others. You seem very hostile and quite crude. If you can't act like an adult in here please excuse yourself and start fights with random people on MySpace. This community sticks together. You pick a fight or poke random insults at one person we will all take it personally.

Good day.

awww... does it hurt your feelings if I type in caps? is that the problem? because i have to tell you, other than that, I didn't make any :D "derogatory statements", nor any "hostile or crude" ones.

What specifically are you referring to in my last post, "...getting butt-raped" by paying too much for something??? R U serious? Doth I offend your virgin ears? Jesus man, grow up. arent you 30?!!!! Its people like you who ruined the internet. People with no sense of humor, no personality, so stuck up and up tight that they think the internet should be censored and policed and no one should disagree and it should just be one happy Perfect world all the time.
I voiced my opinion. I basically got flamed for downtalking the RS grills. I come back and justifiably vigorously defend my opinion. And you give me crap.... get a life. I did NOT "pick a fight" or "poke random insults" at ANYone. The only thing i insulted was a grill. WHere do you get this stuff? Do you just like to hear yourself talk and use big words to try to look smart?

ps. don't be a fool. I've owned/been driving my tc longer than you; was on these forums before you. Probably logged more posts on this forum than you. And definitely logged more posts on all scion [tc] forums combined.

I'm pretty sure he meant the whole sentence: "I would rather rip out my stock grill and have none than get butt-raped by paying more than 200 for an RS grill. But then again, i'm straight, so...."

Hmm...I'm about to buy an RS1 grill for more than $200, so I guess that makes me ___. And having sex with women makes me ___ too, because in your mind they must still have cooties. You say someone needs to grow up, but then you start fights on the internet. Man, you must win the argument because you're so grown up and cool. This is where I would typically say you need to turn the computer off and get out of your mom's basement, but I've decided against it this time. You just get your head out of your ___ and that'll help much more than turning off your computer.

Usually, I am not the type of person that replies back to such immature comments on the internet, but I will in this instance. No offense to anyone that posts on here a lot, but with your statement "I have logged more posts on this forum than you....and on all scion forums combined", is that supposed to make you better than someone? To me, it sounds like you need to go out and make REAL friends. I agree, you probably have had a lot more posts than a lot of people on this board, but how many were HELPFUL, I'm assuming a VERY small percentage. It's ok to have an opinion, and we might not agree on everything, but you are making yourself look very childish/immature with your useless comments. Your posts prove your lack of education. You contradict yourself. You did not get "flamed" because you "down talked" an RS1 grille, you got "flamed" because of the way you handled yourself. Had you simply said "I don't think the RS1 Grille is worth $200", there would not be all of this controversy. As far as you telling other people to grow up, I think you need to look in the mirror and decide who needs to do the growing up.

Oh, I almost forgot...let me look to see who started this thread asking where to find an RS1 Grill. I wonder if it's the person that called an RS1 Grille "RICE"? Must've been his twin.

And yet you have not read the posts before that talk about how to get an RS grill and how much they cost and what you need besides money in order to get one? Please, since you do not have an account that shows that you have been a member for over 2 years, obviously you have not contributed to the forum. I do not seeing you telling us your old name to look at these posts.

There is a difference between disagreeing and just flaming. Last I checked, you wanted an RS grill, but now call it rice.

You telling us we ruined the internet? If that is not the funniest thing in the world. If you have not noticed, we have a community here. We tell it like it is to each other, we support each other, and we help each other out. Should society allow burglary, rape, murder in the name of "do not police us"? Have you not noticed that the point of these things is to, at the minimum, allow society to function? Your job (if you have one), your parents, the government, they all impose restrictions to keep society working and keep the most people the ability to be happy.

On a forum like this, if we do not ban people like you, how would anyone learn anything? All there would be is name calling and no helpful criticism or recognition of hard work put into a ride. Just blah blah blah my e-***** is bigger than yours.

And it is funny, you have yet to tell me that it is true, people who buy classic cars for much more than they originally sold for are idiots. We can all see where this is going since you do not have any logical arguments, just rant, rant, rant.

You want to dirty up our family garage here? You get swept out with the trash.

OMG...R U Kidding me? ITS CALLED A JOKE! or being facetious to demonstrate how much of a rip off paying that much for a grill is. How old are YOU.... 12?! you must be if you get so buttsore by reading a funny comment online THAT WASN'T EVEN DIRECTED TOWARDS YOU, or anyone specifically.

you need a hobby or other activity to keep you busy and away from SL so you will stop trolling and instigating fights.

Well i have no problem with repling to him as many of you may know me.

So i guess if people dont want to get "butt-raped" for an rs grill, they should just go to the dealership and order one right? wrong

last i checked, they were well over $1200

go F*ck yourself

paying over 100 bucks for a part that doesn't increase performance, safety, or have ANY functional use is a ridiculous waste of money (IMO) and therefore is in every sense of the term, a butt-raping.

if people don't want to get butt raped...THEN JUST KEEP YOUR STOCK GRILL! DUH.... Or go steal one off an RS in your neighborhood or dealership.

yeah, i hope you take that literally. :D rofl...

and wtf is with the "go F yourself" comment, Loser? did i flame you? NO! so stfu and stop trolling. don't get all buttsore because you got ripped off for a cheap overpriced grill that doesn't do anything. (no, it doesn't add 20hp because it allows more air flow to cool the engine because theres no Scion Emblem blocking the way...) ROFL.... ricers...

thats why i'm almost embarrassed to own a scion, Because you know scion corporate was counting on ricers like you to buy their overpriced factor accesories that they make 200% profit on, because they don't make that great profit off the car sales alone. But as long as they have ricer kids who only car about putting any part they can get their hands on on their car, and they know you're all spoiled yuppie kids who live at home with their parents and spend all their allowance and income from your job waiting tables on ricy parts for your car, so they know you'll spend whatever you have to spend, just so you can say, "my car has part X or part Y."

what kind of loser gets so worked up as to tell someone to go f theirself because of an internet forum post??? You need professional help kid.

paying that much for a grill is like girls paying hundreds of dollars for a Gucci bag or kids paying hundreds for Air Jordan sneaks.

Both the bag and the jordans function EXACTLY the same as other comparable, yet cheaper items, you are just paying for the brand name. In essence, so you can show it off, to act like you're wealthy or show status. Very materialistic and shallow people. thats all.

hi everyone, im brand new to the forum and will be buying my first scion and first new car in april. i have been doing alot of research on this forum and im really excited about my new purchase. iv been reading this particular thread and i just thought you might want my third party opinion. if you have asked how much and were to find somthing and you dont like the answer you recieved, dont get it. if the grill is to much dont buy it. I understand they are very limited and thats what causes them to be so expensive. Basic economics, supply and demand but that doesnt mean your forced to spend the money there are plenty of nice looking alternatives.

You guys are so funny! Getting so worked up over a grille!!!!! This is the age of internet- if someone wants to find it cheaper- they can somewhere else. Who cares what other people put on THEIR cars, it's their money and their car.
