i just got a 2008 tc & it seems to have alot of bass for a stock stereo. Is there a small sub hidden somewhere? I did NOT get the optional bazooka bass tube.

 

there is a stock i think 5'' woofer in da trunk next to ur spare

 

the 08 has a so-called sub in spare tire compartment under the back floor.

 

eh ... the runk sub was an option also. the stock stereo setup is pretty fair

 

Are you kidding? Seriously? If it's it true, I'm REALLY surprised...

But just for the record, I don't think the 08s come with an additional sub near the spare....he may just need to adjust his SSP on the stock HU from FEEL, to HEAR or something...you should also be able to change the TYPE of sound output your getting.

Most stock Scion HUs allow you to choose between the tC sound output, the xA sound output, and the xB sound...maybe even the xD output on 08s...chech out this site:

Look under Scion Information near the top of the page...you should be able to find a few things about your sound system...hope that helps....good luck....

 

I've figured out the ssp & everything & even lowered the bass completely but that much bass can't be coming from stock speakers.

 

It's the 6" stock sub making the bass. They are pretty loud for a cheap looking 6" speaker. I was surprised my self. I know if you change your ssp setting for any other car than the tc the bass isn't as loud.

 

There is a stock sub to the right of the spare... lift up the cover over the spare and reach your fingers under the black part to the right of the spare... you can feel the speaker pointed downwards

 

the sub is to the right of the spare........the big black plastic thing.........that is the sub box.......

 

It does come STOCK with the car in 08, trust me I have one and checked it out myself

Like others said. EVERY SCION tC IN 2008 CAME WITH A SUB.

its there, just take a look, or read the owners manual.

 

My RS2 came with one. I actually like it. It sounds pretty good. You won't rattle the car next to you but it's decent IMO. The tC has a small rear cargo and putting a 10 or 12in box would eat up space.

I think Toyota should put one in all their cars. A 6.5in paper cone woofer, plastic enclosure and 35watt amp shouldn't cost more than $100.

 

I like my little sub in my old tC I had 2 12" subs and I actually like this little guy more

 

yeah the stock stero sounds nice in these cars...

 

I have to agree, I love the stock system in the tC's. The little sub does really good!!

 

yeah, there are only three sound output tC, xB, and xD on my '08 scion tC
