Where To Locate Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer Knob & How
Hi, you might remember me from my "brake installation failure" thread and "how to install windshield wipers". Anyways, I'm approaching 100K miles and since the beginning I've had a sick system with the Rockford Fosgate **** in the center console. It was not drilled into the dashboard like my previous car so it has always been either:
-loose in the area (which I hate because it just rattles and it makes the overall look cheap) or
-Stuck with double sided tape under the car controls (the tape always falls off because the console is not square and curved and the heat melts the tape away)
I plan to post a picture of my current center console and will ask for opinions. I can either:
-Try to reroute the subwoofer **** again which is a pain in the butt
-Use better tape?
-Drill into the car which I don't want
Thanks!

Current setup. The **** is on the left corner. Again today after work the 2-sided tape ain't working in this heat. What should I do?

Is it possible to put it somewhere here? I still don't know where the wire goes to. If it is where I think (from amp behind back seat to the left side under floor, near the foot area of driver side door around the dash and under the center console), then I might try putting it near that red switch I have right now. Let me know!

Thanks for help!

The middle arm rest? How did you route the wire there? I currently route the GPS wire to the AC adapter in the arm rest but only because the wire can cleanly go through the arm rest latch. I gotta figure out how the wire was wired. I have taken off the middle console several times and it barely reaches where it does in the console area as it is.

You can go right up through the bottom of it. I have all my wires ran under the carpet for the back seat to the arm rest. I had to drill a whole in the bottom back of the storage section of the arm rest but not a big deal since no one can see it. I than turned the upper section into a switch box more or less. I don't think I have any pictures of it but if I come across some tonight I'll show you.
I actually don't tune it that much. I just like having it out since it is a feature that I should be able to control. I can just as easily control the base on the touch screen of my head unit. I'm just picky when it comes to audio haha. I thought about leaving it under the middle console near the AC vent area but then I'm sure one day I'd want to turn the **** on a song or something haha.
Haha maybe i'm just spoiled my headunit manages everything better than any extra switches. Put it in your glovebox that is where most people put them especially if you don't use it all the time or like i said arm rest
Finally had time to change the setup in my car yesterday. After much sweat and time trying to figure out how the **** was routed, I finished satisfied and wondering why it was done the way it was done.
Took driver side floor panels out after locating from which amp in my trunk the sub wire was coming from. Basically the wire was routed below the rear seats, along the left side of the car, up through the steering column, around the center console, and in the left half the the middle column leaving a stupid gap from where the center piece snaps together. Can we say stupid?
I got a mirror and saw how it was routed and took the center column off, took the wire out of the left flooring and routed the **** instead in the left rear cup holder. No tape needed this time. It just sits in the cup holder out of site and unstrained. Before the wire was strained and stripping on the outer shell because of how it was pinched through the center column.
Very satisfied now.
Next project is to re-tint the windows darker. The tint I put in 2005 is not as dark as before since it aged. Thinking about going 35% or 25%.
