Default Where to place jack stands?

The jack stands I bought have a little groove in the middle and two ends that stick up farther. This fits perfectly over the chassis to hold up the front of the car, but I can't figure out where to place them when the rear of the car is jacked up. If anyone could please explain to me or even a picture would be appreciated.

Thanks

if its a jack stand

you can only place it underneath the side skirt where its noted by an arrow pointing down.

you can use a jack to lift the rear using the rear tow hook.

you can use a jack on the front by placing it in the middle right behind the radiator, you would see a bump.

always do it on a flat ground. lift once , look twice.

So on area A or area B? and is it safe for all that weight to be on such a small surface area with those little end points?

between the grooves, the same way you would do it for the front. yes, they are reinforced so it's strong and designed to hold up the weight of the car. between where you have the A and B, the steel piece sticking out.

You sure about that little metal sticking down holding the whole weight of the car?
If you look carefully when you are using the trunk jack, no weight is actually being applied to that lip, the weight is being put on both sides of the lip.

I think this is the spot. Looks like it would fit the jack stands perfectly.

On unibody cars I have always placed the jack stands under the pinch weld locations, just like the stock jack.

That is not where I place it, you see the small metal tab right next to it, more left on that picture?

Thats where I put my jack stand. Sometimes it bends a little, but it stands. Maybe I am wrong?

I just get upset, turn green and lift the car up with my hands and do whatever work I have to... lol...

Honestly, just check and see what will hold... And DO NOT put it on any plastic... if you place your Jack, and it lifts with no problems, then a stand will be fine there.

I would also say, listen to Tikbhoy, he knows what he is talking about.

The red line is along the pinch weld. 1. Line up the pinch weld in the groove of the jackstand once the car has been jacked up and 2. lower the car with the pinch weld coming to rest in the groove.

Make sure your parking break is on and there's a block / brick jammed behind the rear wheel.

Default Why not just use ramp stands?

Like everyone here I'm afraid of damaging something with jack-stands.

I've used ramp stands front and back and like the fact I'm not going to tweak anything trying to lift the car.

It was built to run on wheels, so I kind of like to keep it on the wheels!

The gap on your jack might not be deep enough to for the pinch weld to rest. In that case it will bend.

Looking from the back of your car it should rest like this placed at the arrow designated on the bottom of your car.

Everyone note: This goes for the jack that came with your car as well.
