That answered the questions I've been pondering for awhile and was gonna make a thread about it, but now I know! I am gonna be doing the TRD shock and Tein H-Tech suspension myself on my SW 07 in a few weeks.

Not trying to make things more confusing, but in the repair manual it says to use a ruber attachment on top of the jack stand, with a groove in the middle. Check out sections 1-20 and 1-21 in the downloadable manual here on this site.

It was built to run on wheels, so I kind of like to keep it on the wheels!
I haven't had to use either, yet...but driving up on ramp stands would make me nerrrrrvous.

Thanks for the link. I bought a jack and jack stands today and read this thread tonight.
Looks like I need a "rubber attachment" for the stands. Does anyone know where this attachment might be found? Otherwise I might return the jack/stands and buy/make a ramp. It looks like the lip will bend without an attachment. Thanks in advance.

Nah... I always put the stands under the straight frame supports and they are just fine... have to reach under a bit... but hold perfectly.

I made rubber attachments out of hockey pucks. Put a approx 1/2 inch wide x 7/8 inch deep groove down the center of the puck so the lip can sit in it.
