Default Who would be interested in a custom heat shield????

Just testing the water, here are a few pics of a custom heat shield I got made for my S/C set-up:

I'm trying to see how many people would be interested on getting their hands on one of these, this is just the prototype, I want them made with more protection on the sides(like wings or something). It does the job thou, I feel all the heat going around the edges, not over the shaft like it did before. The shield is made out of aluminum, not sure how thick, cause i picked it up and left in a hurry, i will have more info on the specs just as soon as i have them, so please vote and voice your opinions, thank you.

I was going to post this in the force induction forum, but I think N/A people with after market headers can use these as well, so I figured everybody can see it here.

Yes, all you would have to do is remove the 2 bolts at the top of the header, slip the heat shield in, re-install the bolts and you're done, very easy.

I dont want to sound like a coch bag or anything but, the headers have such a minimal effect if any on the seal its crazy. You do know the seal sits rite about where it says TRD on the blower. Its so far recessed in there that it would be almost impossible for any heat to have any effect on it in any way, shape, or form. If that seal can sustain 300+ degree engine oil temps Im sure it can hold up to the headers heat they dissipate. BTW if you ever see oil on that TRD logo, your seal is shot.

Well it does not help the seal when the blower is getting excessive heat from an exposed header , neither does the shaft, why take your chances? Toyota/TRD sure don't, thats why they provide a new heat shield when for the OEM header, if it really was not necessary, why would they waste their time and money on providing this for you? just saying, thanks for the info thou.

They would waste the money to make it asthetically pleasing to the eyes. Why do they put all that plastic in the engine bay on cars, to cover up stuff and make it look nice and pretty. Same thing goes with this. If you take apart a supercharger you would know what Im talking about.

So you're saying all of the S/C that have crapped out, the extra heat from the after market headers that people left in or installed after worth had nothing to do with it? I seriously doubt that, like I said before, why take your chances? it gives me piece of mind and can to other people as well.

I like the idea of the heat sheild for aftermarket headers, I just dont like how far down it extends. But I guess if you need it like that to work properly then what can you do about it.
