I like it and hope to get it...... however, I have 2 question :

1) Having seen the photo shots of the prototype HS, any chance that being the lower portion (o2 sensor level) of the sheet metal is not anchored to any point, would this cause vibration and rattling noise (in future) when the engine is in gear and rocking back & forth? the sheet thickness was not disclosed

2) Can the sheet metal be extended downward a little more and perhaps curved at the sides w/o touching the o2 sensor? Logic is that since we want to prevent radiant heat, we should try to cover as much as possible right?

To answer your questions:

1) theres not vibrations at all, it not touching anything so there should not be any issues there, there is no where else to mount this thing, except where it is now. I will let everybody know what the thickness of the HS once I have that info along with the price.

2) That has been talked about, I feel a second version coming along soon, thanks for the support.

P.S. there is nothing new to report, don't want to irritate the shop by calling every day, i will cal them tomorow.

 

I like it, its different and neat, it all depends on pricing though.

 

And if it will fit the MMW header -- A lot of people run that header -- This might also help the Cali guys pass inspection

 

Only thing to report today is, the HS will be made out of 16 gauge aluminum, still waiting to hear back from the sheet metal shop, sorry......

 

Well....the company that made this for me totally flaked on me, so now I've been looking around to find someone else to make them for me, sorry i got everybody all excited about this and so far nothing to show for , this is going to happen, that I can guarantee, just can't give anybody a date, sorry and thanks for your patience......

 

When you get em made put me on the list too.

Tho I'd like it a tiny bit better if it extended down and to the sides a bit more.

 

I'm totally down for one of these too! As long as it'll fit the MMW header that is...

aww man that's bad to hear, i want to repolish my headers but don't think i'll actually do that correctly and this looks like the easy way around it. hey G, it doesn't seem to hard to make if you take it to another metal shop with the dimensions so they can cut and bend the sheet metal. only problem is that each header is shaped different

 

^ just jet-hot your header... or buy mine so I can get the DME one...

 

Screw waiting around for this. I'm just going to cut and fab up my own shield. I'm not as concerned with appearance as I am with overheating my soon to be installed charger...

Yeah, I'll def post some photos whenever I get around to it. I've got A F LOAD to do as is...
