Why is everyone waiting for AEM??
I am not sure if anyone has spoken about this, but why is AEM still the only company being mentioned for the CAI wait fiasco. If Injen would come out with one, I would get that one. In addition, if I am mis-informed about this whole thing, can somebody please tell me if there is anyother company coming out with one soon.

Give it time my man, our car is still a baby, companies need some time to figure out if they're willing to go for it and put money into us. A few more months, and I got a feeling the selection for our vehicle is going to be insane.
I think it has to do with the fact, that the AEM will be dealer installed once its out. Some ppl just want to wrap the cost of the CAI with the car payment & not give it a second thought. For those who want to save the money & gain the skills from installing it, you need to wait. I cant recall the name of the company, but another company has a CAI out right now. Just search around the tC section I think & you should find it. If its not in the tC maybe its under Power Hungry.
althought the tC is a hot seller right now the fact is that people are still waiting on them, so there is not a lot out there currently. jasonh is current in saying, wait for sema. the people getting shafted are the ones with the xA's.
Waiting for AEM cause its a dealer option. They've really been cutting into mods in this area. One of my cousins got ticketed and was told to remove his exhaust and CAI from his car within the last year. I think VA has some sort of law about certain mods, particular to the exhaust. From what I hear, dealer options are exempt.

Injen model # IS2025 should fit since it's for the Camry/Solara 2AZFE. It comes with a heat shield but runs around $240

Sorry, yes iit is a short ram. I missed the CAI distinction in the original post somehow. I did look at my tC bay closely and it should fit with little to no issues. Just another option to consider.

The Injen CAI is due out in late October and AEM is due out in December. But, in answer to your original question, the bypass valve is probably the reason so many are waiting for the AEM to come out. Afraid of hydrolocking their cars and that valve offers a measure of safety. Injen is also working on one for their units. Hope that answers you question.

If the AEM CAI for the tC is as ineffective as the AEM CAI for the xB, there is really no reason to get it, unless you really like to listen to intake noise.
I don't think that Scion ever released horsepower numbers for the AEM xB intake, probably because it didn't make any!
