As fast as the Nissan is, it has terrible gas mileage, low idle, no stereo, no power windows, no power locks, no a/c, no interior, no comfort. Everything rattles in the Nissan, not just the hatch LOL. The TC feels like driving a luxury car in comparison. Well at least both cars have Tein coilovers now.

sweet, where and how much $?

 

retail is $1400 for the ssp. i remember reading a recent reply to a thread on scion life where someone said they paid $1150 shipped for the SSP from "CC" (creative compacts?). If that is true, then that deal kicks ___.

I paid $1050 (wholesale price) through a hook up from an old friend who works at a shop. After California tax, it came out to $1138 and I had to pick up.

i installed those ssps for a friend last week and it was super easy. less than 1 hour install is possible

are those coilovers all the way down? It looks low but not slammed which is why im looking into the progress coilovers which can go 4"

 

Why are these so expensive compared to other springs....are these shocks and springs together???? I could use a little explaination thanks

 

yup. spring and shocks together.
also depends on what options you get. i got adjustable dampening, pillow mounts with front camber plates.
compared to other coilovers, Teins are very competitively priced.
Where and how you drive your car should determine whether you really need coilovers and those extra options. In the drift-happy 240sx community, driver's will buy $1500 competition spec coilovers for their $500 cars.


It should be lowered roughly 2 inches according to my calculations.

yeah. i'm on about 4 different 240sx forums, but i havent been keeping up with the scene since i bought the TC. I feel like I'm neglecting it LOL.

is that the tein recommended height setting?

Tein doesnt have a recommended height, but a "reference value" height (which is measured from the center of the wheel to the top of the fender. front is 12.6 inches, rear is 12.7). I raised the coilovers before I installed them.

 

did you lower the front and back evenly?

 

I know how you feel, I've been neglecting my poor MR2 since I got the tC
