Im in the parking structure at my school sitting in my car, waiting in traffic. Some girl is reversing and backs right into my rear bumper while I'm still sitting in the car. She looks at me and next thing you know, she takes off!

She tried to get away but gets caught in traffic so I make a u-turn and catch up with her and follow her out of the structure. I get next to her at a light and yell at her that she hit my car and we need to discuss it. She, completely ignores me and keeps looking straight, even chuckling a bit. I get ____ed and get her license plate down and thats that

What ____es me off is why would someone KNOW that they hit a car and still try to run. Even worse, im letting her know we need to talk and she ignores me. Some college students and people like these in general just ____ me off. Take responsibility for your actions dont try to run!

Damage wasn't bad but there is a small scrape on the side of my bumper, and the bumper it isnt lined up properly. Hopefully the report I filed will catch her.

same situation happen to me. I get to the light i am making a left turn i see the light turns yellow and i stop a little above the white line because someone was in front of me. The person in front of me is about to take the yellow and a car is speeding coming south bound and the person in front of me making a left turn right into him. He see's the on coming speeder he stops in the middle of the intersection and the speeder stops about 6 feet from his white line, everything goes to a halt. Then after the person that was going to take the red light speeds off because they were in the middle of the road and the person in front me just stays in the middle of the intersection for about 15 seconds as everyone is at halt waiting for this person to just go BUT AS STUPID PEOPLE ARE HE REVERSES! i see the reverse lights turn on i start beeping and yelling (my windows were open) the reeeetard backs into me. I end up needing a new fender, headlight and front bumper yeah he back up fairly fast!!! Out of the tC for a month because of repairs.

People are just big idiots.

 

Same thing happen to me as well. I filed a report and took the lady to court. If the judge deems the situation as a hit and run, its a minimum of 1 year in jail.

@domo that lady got what she deserved. but in my situation im not really trying to send her to jail or anything. the damage isn't major at all, a few scratches on my bumper and it seems to not be aligned on the impact side. its not super noticeable until you look into it.

nonetheless, scratches are scratches and any type of cosmetic damage ruins it for me. I need to get the bumper checked out to get it straight.

If I were you I'd make her bleed from the purse. She obviously was afraid ..but now she REALLY has something to be afraid of.

 

I opted not to send her to jail but she did have to buy me a new bumper.

 

watching this.. i really want to see what happens when u catch up with the lady. hope the police charges her with hit and run which is what indeed happened according to your story.

 

I think it is stupid not to send the person to jail.....If they want to be a ____ing moron, let them be and let them have the punishment. If someone did hit and run on my car and I had the option of jail or replacing (paying) , I would send them to jail so they can learn how to not be more stupid than a rock.

 

I'd rather let them be scared thinking they could get jail time..if the hit and run is jus a feder bender I would rather just have them pay for the damages.

But if me or someone with me got injured, killed, or traumatized then haul their ___ to jail.

 

yea i was pretty lucky it was very minor damage and not something really noticeable.

I really hated how when I tried to talk to her at the stop light she ignored me and when I said im going to the cops she almost started to laugh. Major or minor damage shes gonna have to pay.

Ill definitely keep you guys updated when the police get back to me. Hopefully they wont take too long. Its been an annoying day going from college PD to city police and having class the whole day.

The whole situation could have been worse but it is what it is now. Thanks for the opinions and responses too guys!

 

Now that I thought about it, I would of called the police on the stop while following her. I guess if you copied down her plate correctly, all should be well. It is just a matter of time, maybe now as I type this, cops are knocking on her door.

Cop: Excuse me, are you Sarah Evans?
SE: Oohh my god, I did not do it, I'm soooo sorry!
Cop: Turn around, hands behind your back... yadayadayada

who drive monster trucks well one day one nicked my door while i was in it!! soo once he left i got out and let the air out of all his tires!

wish i was around to see him trying to change a flat on a monster truck 5ft higher than stock!

 

Something similar happened to me about a yr ago. It was my first accident with my scion and first accident while i was driving ever. I was heading southbound on a 2 lane road heading to I-20 West. To my left, right before the on ramp, is a court house, and to my right is a right only turning lane BEFORE the on ramp going to McDonald's, that was only open for about 20 yrds. At the court house there is a road that runs east/west and a stop sign where you can turn left/right onto the road i am currently on. I clearly was NOT in the right lane, and i clearly did NOT have my right turn blinker on to make it seem like i was making a right turn, but the lady decides that for some reason i AM in the right turn lane and runs the stop sign at the court house! She was attempting to make a left to go southbound (the same direction i was traveling) until she runs her 1985 GMC K1500 straight into my door going about 20mph (i was traveling about 35) pushing me off the road and almost into the ditch. She puts it into reverse and proceeds to act like nothing happened and was about to take off continuing southbound until i jumped out of the car and stopped her. Called the cops, and insurance company and apparently the reason she had been at the court house 20 mins before she hit me was because she was taking care of a ticket she had got earlier in the week...the ticket was for running a stop sign.

Wow...


You best believe if the tables were flipped and it was you that hit that girl, she would sent you to jail. I think girls get off way to easy sometimes.

Id make sure to pop up randomly around her and with people around start saying this girl hit my car and ran then laughed about it when i confronted her. It will make her squarm so bad and get nasty looks! whos laughing now B____

 

Yeah that happen like 2 1/2 3 months ago. the person who took the red light got a ticket and the person who reverse right into me got a ticket i don't know what but i told the cop on sight he deserve a ticket for reckless driving didn't even look in his rear view mirror.


Send her @sss to Jail. After they do it once they will do it again look at the situation with SierraRomeoAlpha She just got a ticket for taking a stop sign and still didn't learn her lesson and took another stop sign.

It is true most women get the easy way out but stuff like this can't look at gender. I bet if it was some guy that did it and laugh and threw a bird at you while running away you would most deff. send him to the g@y shack

 

Lol you guys are right it's gonna be funny when I see her. Im pretty sure I could spot her car in the parking structure...thats the only place you can park if you have class at university village (UCR students know what im talking bout).

Or she might ditch that class for the rest of the semester haha.

The only thing about this situation is damage on my car isn't explicitly visible. There are a few scratches on the side and the bumper isn't lined up on the side. You only see these damages if you look into it.

Since I have no experience with insurance and all that good stuff how do I get those damages fixed? Will insurance give me money to get the whole bumper re-painted and aligned? Or would they tell me to use touch up paint and fix it myself? Sorry for being so nooby about this...

Oh and for the other people who shared their stories, yours sound much worse than mine. Good thing you guys got their info and caught the suspects.
