why is SL keep saying critical error cant connect 2 database
There has been a huge explosion of a transformer out west which took out 10,000 servers of hosting sites. This explosion has affected lots of sites. Scionlife may be one of them. My hosting plan and sites were down over the weekend but are up on backup servers. Most of the sites are experiencing some issues until back on normal servers, not backup ones. Im not sure if this is affecting SL but it maybe.
Here's the message my host provider gave me via e-mail:
"On Saturday 5:45 PM CST a huge transformer explosion took out three walls and the main electrical system at our datacenter in Houston, Texas. Fortunately no one was hurt in the explosion.
This explosion has taken both of our main nameservers offline which were on separate networks and is affecting many of our servers including our main support website.(*Update. NS2 and the new NS3 are now active. We are still working on completing the datacenter move for NS1 at this time)
The explosion has affected many hosting providers with 10,000 servers currently offline at this time. Fortunately our servers and your website data are still in tact.
The fire department did not allow for the backup power plan due to the damage. Floor 2 of the datacenter is now active as of this morning. Floor 1 is still currently down and the datacenter is working to get those servers back online.
We are doing everything in our power to get your website up and running as soon as possible. As we are an enterprise client with the datacenter, we are having several servers transported to another datacenter in the area. We are also loading up an additional server at another datacenter in Seattle, Washington for failover. We are waiting for domain propagation at this time for the website to come online.
We understand this is frustrating and ask you to bear with us as we ride this out. This is the longest outage we have experienced in our six years as a hosting provider and we are working to put in place methods to mitigate such a scenario in the future. You are important to us and we wish to get you back online a soon as possible. We will be issuing credits to clients affected. Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time and we are doing everything we can to get you up and running again.
Thank you."
