Will the next TC get a more powerful engine?
We all heard the news of the new 2007 Camry coming out next year (spring) with it more powerful V-6 and I'm sure they will increase their I-4 HP too. To keep up with the new Accord I-4 of 2006 this was increased by 6hp from the year before. Rumor on the internet has the engine ranging from 170 to 180 horsepower, depending on what sources you read. Whatever the case is, do you guys believe the new 2007 tC will get the Camry’s new engine or keep the same 2005 engine? Well, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a new engine, design wise, but a better tuned (revised) 2005.

Think about a 2007 tC with 180 hp and auto 5sp (I know it’s wishful thinking) mostly the 2007 engine will produce 170 hp or something close the Accord’s I-4.

what the talk is right now in japan is that a new toyota/scion coupe is in works and is going to be based upon or going to be an improved scion tc. It will have around 250-260 hp and be the new sports coupe for toyota/scion. The reason i say both toyota and scion is that it will be considered toyota in japan and scion in america, it will be a replacement/improvemetn for the celica and maybe the next scion tc. It will directly compete with the type-r's in japan and is in the works for 2007-9

Plus if they somehow got that extra weight behind the front axle, it would make it handle better.
v6 would add so much more weight to the front end of the car. it would become a little something like 65-35 weight distro. one of the reasons why it understeers so badly
stock it is nearly 60-40. that is pretty horrible imho. its better to add a power adder like a turbo or supercharger with less weight added.

it is very unlikely that you will see any major power upgrade for the scion vehicles. one of their highest selling points is their low cost. it is very unlikely that you will see a 260 hp scion.
scions sell well because they are cheap.

if 6 BILLION doesn't fix it.. time to use a hammer.. lol
