Wimmpy Horn!!
I did!!
I replaced the wimpy and tinny sounding OEM horns with a set from PIAA.
The dual 400/500 HZ version. A higher pitched 500/600 HZ version is also available. Sounds sooooo much better, and definitely gets everyone's attention in traffic. The stock horns sounded like they were meant for a circus clown car!!! I think it cost me around 60 some dollars. They bolt right on to the original mounts but, the horn wiring end plugs from Scion is proprietary and won't readily connect to most horn contacts, so you will have to do some minor wiring connection work to connect them.
Go get them, and never be ashamed to push on that horn button again in your TC!!!
Chombi........Tooot!

If I remember right, the PIAA horns cost around $64.00 after tax, from a car accessory store near my work. I've seen it for a little less at eBay once in a while. I was looking for some Italian Fiamme horns when I just chanced upon them.

I thought it was a really weak horn too, till I hit the panic button while standing outside of the car. The car's sound insulation really dampens a lot of the sound and you hardly hear it from inside the car, but if you're on the outside it's really quite loud. I do agree that the actual sound of it is kind of like a circus horn though, like it belongs on a Volkswagon Beetle. But the loudness is more than adequate.
Man... if you think this horn is bad, you should have heard my 98 integra. It makes this horn sound positively frightening. I'm ok with this one. I'd like a better one but the upside of having one that isn't so loud is that if you just want to give someone a little warning, you don't have to totally ____ them off. When you want someone to MOVE though, it would be nice to have a better one.
Always nice to hear there is something else about the 3 that makes it not as good as the tC. Don't get me wrong - I think the tC blows it out of the water, but if you look around, it's really the only real competition we got.
I think the tC horn is really loud if you're in front of the car but the tone is rather silly. Either way, it's soooo much better than my old Chrysler Sebring Convertible's horn.... that thing just plain sucked.... sounded like a kazoo (seriously). If you were in the car, had the radio on low volume, and had the top closed, you couldn't hear the horn at all.
