driving in snow is cake, i use to have a sonoma, a 240sx, and a mercury grand marquise. all rear wheel drive just remember take turns slow, and counter steer. the tc is front wheel drive, if you have trouble driving a fwd car in the snow you have a problem. go to an empty parking lot and learn, it's very simple. go slower, allow more room for stoping, and if your rear starts to come around counter steer :D
quick question: when i hit my brakes hard, i can feel on my foot that the brakes are letting off and grabbing again, it doesnt sound too good but maybe this is the ABS... my friend told me that might be a rotor problem but i dont think it is... my car has only 2,000 miles! can someone clear that up for me?

just because people think the tC doesn't handle well in the snow doesn't mean they don't know how to drive or are "doing" something wrong...this is my 17th winter of driving in upstate NY and i'm familiar with the process of driving in bad weather...one of my jobs requires driving a rwd cargo van 130 miles through back roads so i know what horrible is...i drove my tC to an empty lot today and wasn't expecting the damn thing to tear up the lot like a Hummer..i'm not saying the tC is horrible in the snow..just that it doesn't handle all that well in the snow with the stock tires.
1st snowy drive w/ snow tires on tC w/ rear sway bar
I have 195/60R 15 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's mounted on steelies. The car and the tires performed great.
We had about 4" of snow yesterday - packed onto the roads (no asphalt visible). I was able to play around w/ the car a little and see where it stands in the snow. Like the farmer - it is outstanding in its field. :D
* Accelerating from a dead stop: a little spin (of course) but better than almost every other car on the road. I sometimes start in 2nd gear to minimize spin - I don't think this puts much strain on the clutch as the wheels are spinning a bit and we have enough torque to handle it. I found myself accelerating the same as, if not better than, many AWD vehicles w/ all season tires.
* Cornering: I did this at slower speeds in a parking lot (20-30 MPH). The car is very predictable at this speed. The RSB allows for the ___ to feel a bit loose - but it will not really step out on its own. You can induce a bit of of a slide if you lift off the gas abruptly near the end of the apex. Otherwise the car handles well w/ snows.
* Braking: 45 MPH panic breaking on empty road was awesome!
ABS worked AWESOME!! - Sounded god-awful but worked awesome! Breaking was straight and basically controlled w/ very little skidding (A huge improvement over my jetta w/o ABS). I really cannot express how well the ABS worked in the snow. Cornering at lower speed w/ ABS worked well too. I did this at about 20MPH in a parking lot. Cornering was pretty good while braking w/ ABS...a little bit of push up front but I was able to control my turn w/ the ABS.
Well - the car was great and very easily controlled w/ the snows on - no worries. I highly recommed snows if you live in an area that gets lot's O' snow.
I put winter wipers on as well as the summer wipers suck!...much better. Oh yeah, the two piece floor mats are great too - apart in seconds and no wet carpet mats.
Happy motoring and be safe.

had snow and icy conditions today ... have 195/60-15 off-brand snows on steelies on my car ... this car is great in the snow if u dont have the stock tires ... traction is good and braking .. fairly confident with it ... we shall see as the winter goes along .. the ABS is good ..
