Default Is it worth it?

So a header puts out roughly 5-7 hp and the Injen intake is good for another 10-12 hp. These NA extras add about 15-19 hp and another 10-14 ft-lbs of torque. When you get the super charger you remove these items and get 40 hp and 20-25 ft lbs of torque. My question is if you aren't going to get the 9lb pulley then is this really worth the money? I mean you get an extra 20 or so HP and another 5-10 lbs of torque. 0-60 times are like .2 (7.2 vs 7.4) faster than stock and quarter mile times of 15.1. I was seriously considering the SC but now I'm not sure it is enough bang for the buck. I know of the warranty issue and all but I am after performance; it's why I want to mod the car. I think the supercharger is great and all but due to the fact that it doesn't put out more power I am not sure if it's worth the 3.5-4k (including installation).

I think it will be worth it..
Stock Dyno about 140whp.
S/C Dyno about 195whp
55hp for $3200 installed and warrentied is not to shabby.

Actually, just the S/C will dyno around 185-190whp. All the dyno's i've seen also included exhaust and a few other things.

jiujitsuking: Don't let warranties scare you, no matter what anyone says you won't void your warranty unless a certain part does harm or cause a OEM part to fail. It also has to be a direct connection. With that said, ZPI is your best bet. After dealer install (assuming you didn't do the install) the supercharger would be running you around $3,700+. ZPI stage 0 is around the same price, and will put you around 230whp+. Stage 1 is more expensive but will put you around 290-300whp.

Keep in mind when throwing boost on a n/a motor, you will need to upgrade a few parts to ensure saftey of the motor and tranny. Doing f/i on a completely stock motor, well, you will regret it in the long run.

I was skeptical about the S/C as well, but I think it was well worth it.

I think a improvement would be a LSD. Its sorta hard to get the power down and a SC would just make it worse probably. I bet the SC would make a huge difference in actual driving even if its not much faster at the track.

Its great for daily driving, but best bang for the buck i would say no. ZPI, turbonetics or custom would be better choices IMO.

For going to the track I would do the LSD. For daily driving like you said that probably wont help much at all.

I think we totally need an LSD because when I take off during normal driving and try to put a little power behind it the wheels sometimes spin and that is a bit embarrassing. I would prefer to put that same power to the ground. I think and LSD is def needed.
