Default Would you make a complaint?

Ok just wanted to get a little more insight on this before I go complaining. I took my tC specifcally to this certain dealership which is an hour away because the Toyota dealership here doesnt even have Scions AND I cant bring it to the dealership I bought it from because its to far...anyways. First I think you should be treated the same, I dont care which Toyota dealership you go to. I dont think its right that if you didnt buy the car from their dealership you cant get a program car to take out while they are working on yours. Ok so besides that When I dropped the tC off I noticed 2 guys come out of the building ( not mechanics, salesman ) they started walking around my car then as soon as I drove off they opened my door and popped my hood to see what was under it. So I backed up and was like WTF! they were just being nosey but they have no right to look inside my car period. You think I should complain to the dealership? Sorry about the rambling BTW...lol

I think you should. Salesmen have no right looking in your car. And 2ndly, I can understand how a differnt dealership would treat u different because U got it somewhere else. Its like you going to Walmart and getting a bedsheet, and then go to Target to return it. Thats kinda the same. But to round it up, the salesmen have no right to poke around in your car. Report it. Not much will happen but they might get a slap on the hands.

I would ask their boss why then needed to look in your car. Better check to see if anything is missing.

Complain Complain Complain...there's absolutely no reason what so ever for a salesman to look under your hood or inside your car without your expressed permission...just because it's on their lot doesn't mean they have the right to do whatever they want

I would have walked over to them, closed my hood, while they were looking and said "Yes?" Salesman are jacka$$. Complain and not just to the dealership but complain to Toyota they have a specific dealership experience number.

why did you go to the dealership in the first place? was there a mechanical problem?

please say no, because if there was, obviously someone needs to look inside your car/engine bay...

I wouldn't go back there and complain. BUT, I would've told them to step back at the moment. As you said, they sell no Scions. Take it as a form of flattery.

I went to the dealership to get the wind deflector recall fixed and sunroof lubbed up so yeah they didnt need under the hood for that... These were salesmen too not mechanics so this is why I was complaining.

I sent the dealership a complaint about the salesmen looking inside the car and under the hood. As I stated I went to this specific dealership which is an hour away because they deal with Scions.

The one close to me doesnt sell Scions, its a Toyota/Ford dealership....tarded combination there.

Yeah I would definately complain.. what *USED* to be the dealer's car is now *YOUR* property. They could have easily asked for your permission, but since they didn't, big mistake.

wow. people don't read. she didn't buy the car at that dealership. and the one that's close to her isn't affiliated with scion.
good luck on your complaint. i wish people would mind their own business. or at least look under my hood after the car is out of my sight.

you're not funny. fortunately, the SL rules do not require you to be.

you're also not helpful. Please re-read the scionlife rules, item number 1.

i would talk to the manager... then file complaint.

seems that filing complaint is best option...

if they were mechanics or techs i'd understand.. but salesmen? uh uh.. no way.. none of their business.

Yes, were it me I would complain. Simply parking a car on a dealer's lot does NOT give the salesmen permission to start snooping.

If a dealership tried that with my vehicle, they would have "instant confrontation" and we'd be talking to the boss.

Good luck!
