Default WTF happened to this bolt+nut???????? pics inside

ok.. so lately im hearing some weird noise from the engine.. it sounds like when you shake your keys.. so its like a high pitched metal on metal noise ( its not that loud and a only can be heard for a really short time)
it happens only when my engine shakes really hard ( like when i put it in 1st gear and i take my foot off the clutch or when i start my engine)

so i popped the hood to see whats up and to be honest i was checking the CAI because the bracket is broken.. plus i got the dr iso's fender wall adapter or whatever is that and that is making some different noise when my cai moves ( metal on rubber noise.. creaking noise)

but the key shaking noise is different.. so bottom line.. i found this:

as you can see the bolt on the left side is okay

CLICK ON THE SMALL PICS!

BUT

when i unscrewed the right one i found this:

uhm... yes.... the whole bolt came off and i cant take off the nut,
it looks i overtightened it thats why the lug popped out on the top ( marked green)

BUT WHAT happened to that part which is marked with blue???
To be honest i dont really remember to overtightened that nut that much....

yes it is, just get something to crimp one edge and unbolt it, then screw the piece back in and bolt it right back up without to much torque. as for why it happened, it could of been because you probably removed it the last time when the engine was still hot and since metal expands when hot it came loose and you didn't notice that it was abit higher than the other side.

thx guys.. i know what to do with it :D im not that stupid.. i just dont get it what happened to that bolt.... because it doesn't look like the other one... i wonder if the nut did that to the bolt or it was a different bolt and thats why is the middle of it is like that

oh yeah.. i tried to unscrew the nut but i couldn't do it.....

should i put it in the fridge?:D because of the heat it would expand.. so if i put it in the cold.....

i will spray some wd 40 on it too.. oh and i need to replace the rubber washer too.

i just put my plastic vvt-i cover on the other day, after it being off for about a month.

anyway when i tightened down the left top nut for the cover on the bolt, i realized i was turning it,...forever.
pull out the nut and the bolt came with it, same as yours.

i looked down into the hole on the valve cover itself, and it looked like i stripped the first two threads or so. i cleaned it out and put the bolt back in with the nut attached.

its tighter, but not perfect.
its i guess its from tightening and un-tightening ALOT or rather over-tightening.

at least its not a important bolt that can do damage to internals or anything, it just holds your plastic engine cover on. i plan on paining my valve cover and doing away with the engine cover anyway so its not big deal to me.

if you are really worried, take off the valve cover and re-thread it. if thats the problem.

metal + heat = prone to stripping

nah i dont really care.. i just didnt know if something pushed the nut upwards and thats why it killed the thread on the bolt..... thats it.. this is the only thing i was worried about..

btw i was thinking maybe the two bolt what i have is completely different...

btw i really like the look without the engine cover.. i just need to paint the head..

sometimes things happent hat we just don't know the answer to, maybe engine vibrations coupled with hot tempuratures made it strip itself
