Interestingly enough, the V6 Charger has a similar 0-60 time to the tC.

 

^same is true for a mustang v6 right?

most little civics try to race me off of lights, etc-as soon as i apply a little throttle the famous tc-whistle begins, and everyone thinks im turboed....the race ends right there, without me even taking off

 

Yup. The GT auto is a second faster, and the manual is two... and yes, I know someone with an auto GT. Her daddy bought her a GT/CS, but didn't want to "trust her with a stick".

 

i race anything that come close to me, either i win and im happy, or i lose and get to see a fast car take off and listen to some swet exhaust sounds, no i dont thats a lie

 

I get a ridiculous amount of attention and kids trying to race me because of my TYC's that came stock on the RS3. A tad bit annoying.. they fight traffic as everyone says to get up to me.. then basically try to line up, since i don't go they hang next to me and gas, brake, gas, brake. Oh well.. =0P

i get that occasionally. some dude with a mazda 3 hatch tried to race me... when i was in the left hand turn lane... kinda stupid... he was bone stock. other than that my car is pretty stock looking so no one really tries to mess with me. oh well.

as a 16 y/o i'm gonna go ahead and say that's just how we do. people do it to me too tho and i know it gets annoying. especially now that i'm lowered and have it breathing with the aftermarket manufacture stickers on my windows lol. i'll have to update my pics soon, they show me all stock.

 

Same reason why i dont put any manufacture decals and such on my car. Its just asking to be challenged by those people. the only decal im planning on putting on my car is a nautical star or volcom logo (even though that still might set 'em off) lol

I don't really get challenged alot, maybe once in the year that I've owned the tC. The only person I race is my dad in his RX-8. He got his car about 4 months after I got mine, so I think he just wanted to show me up. That, and he was driving a Corolla before that.

Yea, I've seen that a few times since getting my tC. I have the TRD exhaust and 18". It really annoys my husband when he is out in one of his cars.


His Barracuda is a stout car on a quarter mile, running low 12's. But it's not a fun car to drive on the highway because of the rear gears he has (4.56?) . On the rare occasion when he takes the car onto the highway, he's turning some high RPMs at 70mph. There is always some fool in a POS civic or something that will pull up along side of him and want to race him. While they couldn't touch him on a quarter mile, he can't keep up with them on the highway because of those gears. It's comparing apples and oranges, two very different vehicles. Even the Mustang will draw some NUB along side.

yep when you go 0-70 in the length of a5 lane intersection........then hit 2nd and she walks sideways a foot to 90 till the posi hits.......and then coast out the rest of the 1260 with style.....chirping 3rd and smooth to 4th.............it is the best........but just once I wanted a big block that could walk freely to 160 on the highway.....justa womp and it goes.........70 mph hit back to 3rd and wave bye bye.........we have a nice purple one like that here also but he never races except at the track.........nice cars....

 

My response to the title is...
Why else would you buy one? The exhaust I have does get looks and there's one other person in town I know that has it. I've only raced friends of mine and at the track. Ever since I heard of one guy get locked up after a street race near the new hangout I say no to any runs(people been trying to get me to run a EP3 Civic Si w/ intake and exhaust). I know it's not worth it but there are just some times that you take a look around you and then just say, "Let's do this then!". One race I doubt I'll do again is a Initial-D style touge run. I was following a Civic hatch and then I hear three horn honks and we both take off on this nice straight and I'm just on his tail the whole time and then we had to slow down for railroad tracks ahead. Even though it was someone I knew I was backed off his tail some for the ending of the run since we haven't raced much.

 

im just lowered with a stubby and hids. Evos, 350s, WRX and STi rev at me... :/ no exhaust or anything..
