Yo, I was just reading up on the Lotus Elise 190 which just came out this year in the US, and discovered the following for engine specs :

Toyota supplied, 4 cylinder, dohc 4 valves per cylinder with variable valve timing and lift
Capacity: 1796 cm3
Bore/Stroke: 82.0 mm / 85.0 mm
Maximum Power: 190 hp (141 kW) @ 7800 rpm (DIN 70020)
Maximum Torque: 138 lb ft (181 Nm) @ 6800 rpm (DIN 70020)
Compression Ratio: 11.5:1
0-60 mph: 4.9 sec, 4.7 sec (Sports Pack)
0-100 mph: 13.0 sec
Standing 1/4: circa 13.6 sec
Top speed: 150 mph
0 - 100 mph - 0: circa 17.5 sec
100 mph - 0: circa 85m

This car is smaller than the Box in every aspect, and the engine compartment is basically the exact same, if not slightly smaller, size. And it's a mid-engine too....possibilites for a rather pricey motorswap? Thoughts?

 

the new Elise 190 has a Toyota 2zz-ge. That's the motor in the Celica GTS, Matrix XRS, and the Corolla XRS. Activa did a 2zz swap into a Yaris/Vitz/Echo Hatch, but they had to modify the engine bay....I'm guess they modified it with a sledge hammer to the firewall...

 

haha the engine in that car looks like the drawings of cars with the rims that you know won't fit in there, like 26" rims on an xB

 

when I saw the first picture I thought, "Why's there a VW sticker on the window of that Echo??" :?

Ahh, the VW is BEHIND the Echo, I get it now. :D

 

thats a hot echo. they don't sell them here like that, but they do in canada
