From xB to tC
Firstly, if you buy a release series, it won't be for the current 08 model year because there isn't one. You would be buying an 07 or below if you got an RS.
Second, I have an 07 tC and I love it. It doesn't rattle a bit and think it has been said elsewhere on these forums that the 07's fixed a lot of the rattle issues for the tC so I would assume that an 08 would be good.
Thirdly, as for the soft paint issue, yes, the tC's paint is easily dinged or scratched. Even the smallest thing that you think wouldn't effect anything does. Not sure as to the reason the paint is like this but it is what it is.
One thing I would suggest is not be amazed by the accessories you can get at time of purchase because you can prolly get them for less somewhere on the internet and install them yourself (tail lights, interior lighting, springs, struts, etc.) This will help keep the cost down cause you can easily turn this 18K car into a 20K car with factory accessories.

Well, its bought
2008 tC in Waveline Pearl and its awesome. I got a little teary eyed when I turned over the keys to my xB but was quickly over it when I drove away in my new tC. I can't believe I have been missing out!
I've got one freakin heck of a story to go with it too. There is a certain dealer in the metro Atlanta area that employs a certain manager that has a completely bad tude. He called my friend an a@@hole to his face and told me that he was the reason they wouldn't work with me. He only said this because I refused their offer of 10500 on my 14K mile 06 xB. Carmax offered me 2K more than that.
Anyway, I would like to praise the following people of Cobb County Scion. If you are in metro Atlanta and want a SUPERB dealership to go to, it is Cobb County Scion. My salesmen that helped me were great and many THANKS go out to Hunter, Gerald and Jared all of whom work at Cobb County Scion. I will most def go back to them for any of my future Scion purchases. They are WONDERFUL! The showroom was clean, well maintained, they were extremely informed, well dressed, and very very professional. The original tC on the lot I was purchasing was sold so they had another one brought in asap for me! GREAT DEALER AND TEAM!
Thanks to all of you who replied to my thread! I really appreciate the input! Now, I just need to figure out how to stop that damn squeaking coming from the stereo cover door area when it is up.
THANKS AGAIN GUYS & GALS!
Devon
PS: Here is a lil pic for you to enjoy
Took it from my neighbors steps with my Motorola Q!

i almost bought my 07 tC at Cobb County Scion, but my salesman was pushing me to buy a silver one which i told him i had no desire to purchase... blah blah blah... i wasn't pleases with Cobb County Scion, but I'm glad you had better luck there than I did.
I got my 05 tC at Marietta Scion and they were pretty awesome, but when I went back after the first one was totaled, they seemed like they weren't interested at all in working with me on finding the new tC that I actually wanted... so I ended up going with Sandy Springs Scion... they weren't that great either, but they actually got me the tC I looked all over Atlanta for without having to special order it... but i bet that was the dealer with the evil manager... they have some interesting characters lurking around that place...
anyway, glad ya had a good experience with them, and hope you enjoy you're new car!!!
btw, what part of atlanta?
