if you read the ticket... its $75 fine, looks like a fix it ticket so there shouldnt be points.

factory coilovers? :eyeroll: i think when your Cory-low you just ride around waiting for the ticket, no point in wasting everyones time in court, just pay the ticket and figure out a way to drop the car a little more!

idk if ppl realize, if you go to court you automatically have to pay another $280 whether you win or loose. IL court fees are a biscuit. Its an equipment violation, so its the same as an exhaust or tint ticket. No points, just pay it and move on.

however section B here, http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publ...?Name=093-0702 , states that the law doesnt apply to custom vehicles or vehicle primarily for off road use so i cam going to look into what makes a car eligible for either of those things.

Yellow, you've probably said before but what is your wheel arch height from the ground?

There are laws like that in MA also, AZ I know for sure there wasnt. It has to do with being either too low, or also too high. There is trucks in AZ lifted 6 FEET over stock and never get tickets.

Also my front bumper (with the lip though) is 4.5in from the ground, and my fender to ground height is 24" and an eighth. The very very top of the tire tread is tucked, but looking at the car, it just looks like no finger gap. So without the lip, I could lower it another full inch and tuck about half an inch of tire sidewall.

So in theory you could still tuck at the legal 4.5in bumper height. :D

IL Laws SUCK! I got a Tint Ticket on this Camaro we Traded for, a Week after having the Title Transfered, some Cop gave it a Ticket while it was Parked outside my House, we never even Drive the thing, needless to say, I ran outside right away and Ripped the Tint off, now I've request a Hearing and am going to BEG that they give me a break.

RCZ, the law in IL is not 4.5 from gound to bumper, its from the frame to the bumper and my frame is lower than a bic lighter...

stilleto, i dont think its legal to give a tint ticket to a car that is parked ...especially outside your house because there is no proof that the car is even being operated with illegal "equipment"

andrew, i dont have any sound clips right now. sorry
