No, it's Cingular, always has been.

Well, actually... it hasn't. Apparently Verizon was offered first crack at it, and they turned it down.

I'm not referring to pre-deal offers.
The announced and still-provider is Cingular.
Who knows how many turned it down - frankly, it doesn't matter...

It certainly doesn't, but olaHalo stated that the phone was already turned down by the first "intended" provider, and you "corrected" him. I'm just setting the facts straight. Apple approached Verizon, they said no, Apple approached Cingular. End of story.
