For $33 is probably made out of lots of aluminum foil

Like mentioned strut bars don't really do much anyway...so since its only for looks it doesn't really matter. But I hope you don't get a crease in it haha

doesn't look nice, doesn't look functional...doesn't seem like a worthwhile purchase.

you can make yout own in about an hour for $15...just hit up you hardwear store and get some duct tape and a shower curtain rod....im sure that would have the same performance of that.

Yeah, hinged bars .. meh.. don't do a whole lot. But unless your doing turnes at.. ooohh.. 180 miles an hour.. Strut bars ain't gonna do you much good anyway.. Now.. suspension, like coil overs or springs.. Are gonna do you a heck of a lot more good for suspension.. Even sway bars would do more..

a front strut bar will do zero good for the average person's tC. our chassis can handle the turns we all take. if you claim that a front strut bar made your handling better, either:

1. it's the placebo effect
or
2. the frame of your tC was defective from the factory

end of story. on the tC, it's for looks, not noticeable gains.

I can see it now.. You take a turn at 40 miles and our and your tC slides of it chassis. ha ha ha.. Sort of like a deck of cards falling to the side.. Yeah.. If that happens.. I think a factory defect is the least of your problems.

I don't understand why someone would spent 33 dollars on a strut bar. Buy quality products for your car.

Is a strut tower bar really needed?

NO the strut bar isnt really needed on the tC. On other cars thats another story though. The front struts are mounted so clost to the firewall it doesnt make any difference because the firewall is used as a sort of strut tower brace. Now another car, like a civic for instance or a Maxima those make a difference because the struts are in the middle of the engine bay, not braced against the firewall.

maybe we should start a poll.. those with the strut tower bar on the tC (a good one, not this aluminum foil one) who has rattles, compared to those who don't have the strut tower bar and do have rattles. mmmm I think i'm going to go start a new topic

http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/movie/effi...r_lower_a.html

a good quality strut bar are functional. how well it does well depend on the application.

When i still had my tc, i always drive fast in one particular corner that i am very familiar with. with the strut bar installed, the front end feels little more sure footed. less steering input required on corner exit. The difference in handling will not be noticeable to someone that doesn't enjoy pushing the car to its limitations.
