i personally see this thread as a heads up, not a bashing thread.

something along the lines of "hey if you have hotchkis springs, and had them for a while, go check them out, just incase."

sorry buddy. (not to be rude or anything) ur incorrect. Hotchkis advertises higher than the springs actually sit. i PERSONALLY know 3 diff people including myself with hotchkis and 4 people on Tein S-Techs and the S-techs are indeed higher then hotchkis. with the H-techs being even higher. hotchkis almost tuck the wheel. or in my case DO tuck in teh front and rear. S-techs leave about one finger width of gap. dont bleve everything thats advertised. either way the spring rates are better.

yeah the intent wasnt to bash hotchkis. Ack said sumthing about it and thought it may have been one solitary account, till i swapped my springs and found the same thing. it quickly became postworthy. i LOVE my sway bars from them and have had no real problems with them. the company as a whole hasnt done much to anger me as a consumer. however either a bad batch or whole run of a product they made is faulty. this needs to be brought to light so that no one is injured. i may deter people from buying their springs for the tC but i def wont deter anyone from buying their sways...i STILL highly recommend them.

I know my Tanabes have a sleeve over the springs, Hotchkis doesn't offer this on their springs? Actually I was under the impression that all springs would have some sort of casing/sleeve around them.

are you talking about a coil adjuster sleeve?

The sleeve thing is typically for squeaking, IIRC. Not to prevent damage or protect the spring.

well there is always h&r race (not sport) springs. they are a similar drop to hotchkis.

i hope mine stay ok. i wonder what hotchkis will finally say to this. it's really not good at all.... or even safe. not cool.

I went with the Sport springs. Not as low... but I'm hoping that'll pay off in handling with a more balanced center of gravity.

Well, it felt harsh on some bumps... but my thought was that "hey, these poor OEM struts have over 50k on them... they're likely trash" and just assumed that was part of the problem.

i had a issue with the hotchkis sway bars but they replaced them no questions asked. they even overnighted it for free. they said the tubing was defective so the sway bar rusted from the inside out. i talked to a guy named Mark Rossetti. because of the great customer service ill still support hotchkis.

i know my car is filthy but is was the middle of winter
