*** Hotchkis Springs + Rust = OH SNAP! ***
#62
My hotchkis springs were installed in Dec 05, they have minor rusting, they're not as bad as those though. I switch my wheels out from my gold g-games in the summer, to my stockers in the winter. I'll just have to make sure I wash my springs off often. This is somewhat concerning..

yeah...I'd still recomend them, but that is just with my personal experience...I can't not recomend them because someone else had a bad experience...even though this was REALLY bad!
But I"ve had my springs on for over a year and my sways on over 2 years and had no issues, no rusting, and I love the drop, the handling and the price.
Oh...not salty roads here in Vegas either...

Well I remember last time I rotated tires I saw some rust on my springs. Next chance I get I'll get a better look, and take some pics and post them on here.
Oh, and I have Hotchkis springs.

Damn Meaty you are bad with time. Im bad but not that bad. I am glad I read ack's other post and got the H&R's instead. Im glad he took the advice to post this cause more people are coming out of the woodwork with this problem.

Well its more than i ahve heard of before. Im sure some people just havent checked theres out as well. But I can only say i like the way the H&R drop looks right now as i have seen it and not rode in a car with it. But i have heard great things. Soon though i can give my own opinion.

Hotchkis Lowering spring topic
I live in the mid-west... no salt on the roads in the winter or salt air from the coast to fight with...and I have noticed a couple small surface rust spots on mine (1 year old)
I see now that I'm not alone in wondering what the F is going on here. A good coat of sealant would do the trick for those of us that only have a little bit of surface rust. Ride height is great ( 1 finger width from top of tire to edge of fender.) good handling too... so it sucks that Hotchkis didnt use a better powdercoating process. If we all put our 2 cents in to Hotchkis, maybe they'd listen that there is a quality issue that could result in serious injury to drivers if their products fail.

Wow. Just came across this thread. I got hotchkis springs too but they don't look like they're rusted too badly. It looks like they have a different coat then ACK's tho. His look like they were once really shiny, almost bare metal like. Mine are kind of a dull grey pretty much like CSOCSO's springs.
