Only had them for a day so far... and their grip is truly amazing.
I didn't get to play with them so much, but it took a LOT of effort to get them to break loose on acceleration... and I'm simply too scared to try to test their limits on the street. I'll need to find an empty parking lot and do doughnuts.

We have a good number of our club that attends (and place very well) at nats every year. I dont have the time in the summer to do the nationals thing or I would be all over it. But you really should autox for a while and get some good seat time under your belt before trying it IMO.
with the group in our club (Minnesota Autosports Club), we run SCCA rules, classes and even have a number of our course layouts built off of Nationals courses from previous years.

^ That's why I didn't try it. I was just covering some classes for SportsCar this year. 
It's a trip, though... and if you CAN go, I would go. If you're looking for the biggest autocross experience of your life, that's it.

i can get some Toyo T1R's shipped to hawaii for 959..
i need tires that can put 310whp to ground as much as possible but still perform at the autox.
should i get the T1R's?
or what do you recommend? links? i need some asap.. these nitto neo gens are horrible!

What size wheels? You can get 225/45/17's off of edgeracing.com for $152 ea plus shipping.
I havent run them, but I hear a lot better things about the Azenis. Most people I see at events are running Azenis, including myself. You can shop around and find them for about $100 a pop. The next step up would be Bridgestone RE01R's . They are more expensive, but are becoming widespread in autox.

The T1R is more of a High Performance Street tire unlike the 615's, Re01r's, R888's, Z1 Star Specs, etc, which are all Extreme Performance tires. If you really wanted more traction you should of with one of the above, they would of easily handled the higher horsepower. But I understand your dilemma and the T1R's will do just fine. They will handle higher mileage and the rain better, so fine choice.
This season I finally bought a second set of stock rims. Found some that were curb rashed for about $150 and slapped the Azenis on them for autox. That way I dont kill my daily drivers, and can chose a tire less for daily driving features for autox events. Good thing, because after 8 events and 2 test n tunes along with mileage too and from events... probably 800 miles or less, they are pretty much done
Yeah, my old set of 615's only lasted 10k miles, which is odd because I've heard from allot of the Miata and Honda guys will easily get 15k-20k miles from them. I guess its the fact that they weight allot less than we do. 2900lb car bordering on 3000lb ftl.
weight is a huge factor for sure, and the miata is rwd, so you dont have two of them trying to steer and move the car at the same time. FWD is pretty harsh on tires when you push them hard.
I run the 912's on my daily driver wheels. They do pretty well, although not quite up there with the Avons I had previously.

If you are daily driving them, you probably will get a bit more mileage out of those than the Azenis. The Azenis will most likely perform better at the track, but will have a shorter life on the street.

I hate how all of these where when my friend was driving it, we co drove it and I guess the guy that snaps the pictures for the event only cought him driving it. He was #17 I was #71.

Lol, no at our "Equipe Rapide" events you can choose to race your car in a pax event for an additional 2 runs and 10 dollars. Its basically an open class and depending on your cars actual class your time gets handicapped to be more competitive. When you are about to lay down your Pax timed runs you stamp an R before your class. I always do it only for the added seat time.
And I have a camera mount that slides in the rear head seat, But evertime I bring a camera it either runs out of battery, or I run out of tape.
