03-08 Corolla Ultra Racing front Strut bar fits the tC
With some modification....
My Corolla got smooshed big time and before it went to the junk yard I pulled off the Front strut bar and tried it on my tC.
Two issues at first.
The width was fine and it bolted up perfectly but the Corners had to be shaved down to clear the hood. I removed the bar and attacked it with the grinder to remove some material and it fits nicely now albeit a little snug.
The second issue was the brake fluid reservoir had to be moved toward the firewall 3/4 of an inch. I unbolted the reservoir drilled a 1/4 inch hole and remounted it with a 10mm nut and bolt. Sorry I don't have pics of this process.
It barely touches the hood liner but I have been running it 5 months with no issues.
I really like the Ultra Racing strut bar because its one piece (3 piece strut bars suck bananas IMHO) and the front end stiffness is noticeable. It worked out great and now I don't have to buy a new one.
