Brake Master Cylinder, brake booster, or caliper slider pins?
Hi guys,
I've been researching for the last few nights trying to figure out what the problem is with my brakes. Based on my research and talking to various techs, I've narrowed it down to these possible solutions:
1) Brake master cylinder needs replacement
2) Brake booster needs replacement
3) Caliper slider pins stuck
4) Air bubbles stuck in brake system
5) Brake pedal linkage needs adjusting
Here's a short youtube video explaining my problem:
I had new cross drilled rotors, stoptech pads, and stainless steel lines installed at 65k and i'm at 90k miles now. But I don't remember the brake pedal traveling that far down before the brakes would engage.
Any suggestions?

On those stainless steel brake lines, they usually are rubber cores with a stainless mesh over it to keep it "tight". But sometimes they can leak and you'll never see it unless you look carefully. Be careful until you can find out what's going on, don't need to see your tC crashed.

So I took the car to 3 different shops, and all 3 said it was the brake master cylinder. Only one Tech on the 3rd shop volunteered to drive my car to confirm it, so I chose his shop to replace the brake master cylinder.
I recently test drove the Frs and even after replacing the brake master cylinder and machine bleeding 2x, my brakes don't feel as firm as the Frs. If I tap those brakes the car could come to a stop, but not in the TC. I guess that's just how our brakes are supposed to feel... (soft with linear progression)
