Default 5 speed automatic TC

My dad leased a Mercedes C240. It had 167HP. It had 5 speed automatic. What would prevent the auto TC from having 5 gears? Just curious. Thanks.

hmmm they'd have to introduce a new transmission and a new ECU to go with it.. that's all i think it would require..

It's just the way they designed it. My old accord had a 5sp auto, now I've got a 5sp manual. MT > AT.

More expensive. It would probably cost 1500 instead of 800 for the upgrade to auto.

Not to mention the 05 Camry's 5spd auto's gearing would probably make the tC slower.

Could you explain how? Is it because of the lower gearing ratios or something?

i agree. I test drove that car and was surprised that i wasn't driving a lexus. That thing is SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH.

Now, another question...SOLARA SE or an Acura TSX?

Yes, my 03 Mazda6 s has 5 speed as well, tiptronics sport autmatic transmission.

It has 220 HP stock. I love it!!!

Anybody PLEASE help me on how to wire an amplifier to the stock tC? The high level inputs, more specifically, PM me or email me: info@mazda6stuff.com

Thank you!!!

the 5spd auto in the 05 camry feels alot more sluggish than the old 4spd in the 02-04 camry

i rather have the 4spd if i had a TC in auto
