Default 5x100 to 5x114

ok i wanted to get rims that are 5x114 and i know our cars are 5x114 is there a way we can put a 5x114 rim into our cars....i know we can buy spacers for it which cost 100 for a pair but i also wanted to know

if they can drill an extra hole to make it fit without buying the spacers.... if i were to get the spacers is a 30mm offset good or a 25mm offset good?

thank

no, 5x114 rims will not fit and attempting to convert to a 5x114 is a bad idea. it will cause vibrations, i've been there.

as for spacers, i don't even think there's any that exists to convert to a 5x114 unless you get it custom made.. which again, i dont recommend.

just be simple and get 5x100 +35 offset wheels.. there's a wide variety to choose from.

Our cars are 5x100... but it seems like you might have just mistyped it in your first sentence.

As said above, you don't want to bother with any sort of converter. I definitely wouldn't trust any even if they exist. And you wouldn't be able to get as wide of a wheel because the converter will likely end up being a 15-20mm spacer as well - and you're lucky if that's all you'll need. I think someone one the site has done this and he needed the converter AND a spacer.

Just find a different wheel.

there are custom wheel spacers that can be purchased, but the you will loose about 10-15mm (atleast) in how aggressive you can go with your wheel offset, also meaning less lip.

There are several companies online that can make adaptors for any bolt pattern that you want. They arent very cheap though. I think they end up running about 120$ for the set. They can be as thin as 1/2 inch I beleive. You just have to make sure that you get wheels with the proper offset to compensate for the extra 1/2 in. This company is who I went through the last time I needed them. http://www.wheeladapter.com/home.asp

get the wheels "inserted" Buy the 5x114 and get them inserted with 5x100 inserts. Motorsport Technology in Grand Terrance CA does this. no vibrations as long as you get hub-centric rings which you should do anyways. I've been working for Weld Racing Wheels for over 3 years now and we have this company insert certain wheels for us. I got my wheels inserted because we only build wheels for high end vehicles and they dont make any high end vehicles in 5x100. this place will also make you a set of adapters but i definitely dont recomend this unless the wheels you want have like a 55-60mm offset.
