18" Volk TE37's with 5X100 TO 5X114 ADAPTER?
Well i just won a very very nice set of rims
TE-37 Volk Rims 18x7.5 5/114.3 bolt config. +30 offset
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
well i have researched alot about doing it and i'm fairly confident i can get it done.
I have talked to Fred from wheeladapters.com and he said he can make a 5x100 to 5x114 20mm wheelcentric adapter for around $85+, and from his background and references i believe he does quality work.
from my research 20mm adapter with the 30mm offset on the rims it should be fine..
i hope from my research i am correct otherwise i can always resell it out, what size tires should i get as well without rubbing on s-techs?
from what i read i should get either 215/40/18 or 225/40/18, i would wish to get 45's but i have a feeling that would be too thick.
hehe i hope i really made the right decision... this my first new set of rims but my second set of te37's the other is on my other car.

if my math is right, you'll be running the equivalent of +10 offset on a 18x7.5 wheel.
you'll be rubbing like crazy.
the 30 offset would be fine if ur just puttin on the wheel without the adapter.

your wheels will stick out 41mm over stock.
the rears will fit if you dial in some negative camber and roll the fender/qtr panels.
the fronts will stick out 10mm too much.
use the narrowest tire you can find (205 or 215).

but from what i have read shouldn't a 30mm offset and a 15mm spacer basically make it equal to 45mm? or am i miss calculating something..??
on the wheel calculator at
http://1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
i inputed 7" width and 45 offset as the original
the new wheel 7.5" and 45offset assuming thats what i get with the new wheels 30mm offset and 15mm spacer
the results were
Inner Clearance:
6mm LESS
Outer Position:
EXTEND an extra 6mm
why is it when i put a 50mm offset for the new wheel the inner position becomes "11mm LESS" but the outer position "EXTEND an extra 1mm" i don't understand that.

The addition of the spacer makes your wheel's offset 10mm, not 50mm. The lower the offset, the more the wheel sticks out. Adding a spacer pushes the wheel outward, so it lowers the offset number (not raise it).
Compared to the stock 7" wide, et45 wheel. Your new wheels stick out 6mm (on each side) because of the increased .5" width. The offset is 15mm lower. So 15+6=21mm. Add a 20mm spacer and your wheels stick out 41mm over stock.

thx .. i didn't think 205 would work though..??
well i hope its possible.. hmm i have to weigh out the cost of selling these to somebody and spending more money on a new set with a correct offset or spending money on $85 each spacer and rolling the fenders and body out.. hmmm leads to the issue if cf fenders will work since that was my plan...
how would u roll out the body and fenders? i'm still uncertain how it exactly works.

i'm gonna pick up the rims tommorow and want to get 1 used 18" tire to test it out and see how much rolling will be required.. so is the best to go with a 205/40/18 i would prefer to have a thicker tire like at least 45 and a 215 width. pls help anybody and thx for the info.
also how bad will my handling get as well?

definitely stick with the 205.
you can get your fenders rolled at Super Autobacs for $50 per corner. You dont need to roll the fronts since they already come rolled from the factory. No place will warranty against cracking. I got my rears rolled at Super Autobacs for $100 and the paint did rub off. There was some minor cracking, but I covered it up with touch up paint and clear. I'm happy with the results as it is unnoticable.
As for covering up the wheel, you can get fender flares from www.trdsparks.com. Hahaitzskippy on ScionLife has them. My fronts stick out 33mm over stock, and it pokes out the fender. At 41mm, your setup will definitely be noticable.
