Default Adjusting maxed out BC coilovers

Recently installed a brand new set of BC Racing BR series coilovers and have a question on adjusting the height.. Read through about 10 threads but nothing answered my question.

Right now i have all the rings in the front and the factory preload set. All of the rings are touching so I can't go any lower by adjusting the height the "normal" way I guess you'd say. My question is if I lock the 2 small rings together and to the bottom of the shock, and spin the preload ring up then spin the small rings up to that, then thread the shock down, would that lower the front? Or would that just spin the inner threaded part down more? I'm confused as to how that works. I tried it a little (about a half inch) but it didn't seem to lower that much if at all. Any help would be awesome

You shouldn't have to remove any collars to lower the front more, do you have the standard BC coilovers or the "extreme low" set. If you don't have the latter then seems you'll have some work to do, unless you can get in contact with them to get that set.

So they are currently set like this...
Example

Size: 586.6 KB

If not, this is how to lower it,

People do remove rings and tighten everything all back up though, example

Well I ordered the extreme low kit but I'm not sure i got it.. The springs seem rather long, and maxed out (like the first picture) they aren't much lower then the racelands I just got rid of. I have even less thread above the large collar than is shown in that first pic after trying to add some preload. My question is when I did that, is the shock actually getting shorter? Or is the threaded part just moving into the bottom and the length is staying the same?

When putting more preload the shock travel is not shortened, now if you lower the rings and the spring has no preload, then yes shock travel is shortened and more likely to bottom out depending how much you lower the latter way mentioned. That example BC pic is off a BMW lol, so it would likely vary, there are several on BC extreme low if they could give better detail of spring height and shock cartridge length to verify you have the right set.

Ok so if I add preload I'm adding height, but then negating that height change by lowering the shock body back into the bottom mount is how I'm understanding it?

You're not adding any height when you add preload(the setting is usually 0 preload or 5mm to where the collar is firm to the spring where there is no slack). Well if you really get to cranking on it you can tighten the spring to where you can lower the car some more, but the ride will get harsher.

S_it so confusing lol ok so if I preload till I can't anymore, then lower the coils to the preload ring, the car should lower?

My rears are on the stock preload and all the rings are together and it's perfect for my setup. There's still about 2 inches or so of thread above the perch ring of the spring for preload, so if I'm understanding this right now, I can still go 2 inches lower in the rear if I needed to by preloading

Looks like you are maxed out. Take 2 rings out. But from my experience with 3 sets of coil overs, loosing the preload will lower you more vs. screwing your shock down.

I couldn't tell you if they go lower I have no idea, but I would assume the extreme lows do. As far as I know they're the lowest out there right now. My fronts are maxed out with all the rings in and 6 dampening and they ride pretty dang nice.
