Default Alignment...Did I get shafted?

Installed my coilovers last night and drove around Vegas to find some alignmentshops, 2 places said I was too low (low end, F*$@ him hes too low thats all we are going to say), and then stopped by Tire Works..did say I was too low, but actually said that if I brought it back up and brought it back they would fix it..ok no prob. Raised the back 10 threads and brought it back up, and in the shop it went.

I am dropped on FF Type 2s, fronts maxed with 2 perches removed, and rears right now are at 20 threads left.

For $130 did I get shafted?

No, i have seen places charge anywhere from 69-179 for alignments. I got one last night from the only place that will get my on their rack because i am also "too low" and the only reason they do it is because a bunch of my friends work there who are also "too low" and they made a ramp to get onto the rack. Anyhow, they charged me $79 plus tax

Prices vary place to place, could have gotten a lifetime alignment. I don't like that the camber for the front is positive. IDK how you drive but I myself will be going more negative since I like to take corners at speed or faster. I think that's why I had more wear on the outside of the tires.

Im just kind of ____ed they didnt touch the camber at all in the rear, when I specifically asked them to. The positive in the front I can get out. I usually go a little fast in corners when I can as well.

Rear likely needs a camber kit to be adjusted, the rears don't have crap for adjustment stock. Researching would have told you this. If you got "shafted" depends on how much you think is reasonable for an alignment. And the shop likely tried to get it as close as possible with what they could.

well according to your sheet they did adjust your rear camber they brought your rr into were the lr is at. any more adjustment in the back camber is going to require you to get some rear adjustable camber arms. so from what i see you didnt truely get shafted. but you need to also understand that when you lower the rear back down 10 more threads you will also be throwing your alignment back out of specs. Also if your front coilovers have adjustments on the top for camber then they screwed you over.

@McHaggiz...No i honestly didnt look into that, so thanka for mentioning it. I was under the impression the rear cpuld be straightened out more...thus thats why I thought I got shafted.

Now the fronts yes they do have an adjustment at the top of the coil.

Are you even tucking a hint of tire for the rear? My fender is lined up on top of the tire(just barely a tuck) and am at -1.5 LR and -1.9 RR, and decided to leave the camber untouched.

I went in for an alignment thinking the rear camber could be straightened out after reading so many threads where people would claim their rear camber was brought back to stock after being lowered with stock camber arms.
I was really suspicious about it and I was right.
My rears are at about -2.0 like yours too.
I was under the car with the tech chatting with him while he was adjusting the alignment.

Like someone else said I also don't like how the fronts are a little positive.
A little negative would have been better.

The rears won't need camber arms, the kit is a simple bolt with a spacer.

Much better now

I about died of laughter inside when the tech told me the fronts needed camber bolts to adjust, I was like dude turn your computer off that is telling you that and look. Showed him the bolts for the front coilovers under the hood, and he goes "Ok Ill see what I can do"

And now the rear camber is 100% maxed for correction so I was told, and it is in spec as well.

Def much better looking numbers, now you didn't pay for them to fix the alignment that was half assed did you?

For an xB yes, for the tC no. He just now proved that stock hardware can still get within spec.

You're missing the point of what I am saying. I'm not saying this case NEEDS a camber kit, I'm saying that the camber kit is a bolt and washer setup. The "camber arms" that people have spoke of are wrong, I'm correcting misinformation.

OP, good to see you got better results for your liking.

yeah i'll add my 2 cents.. the rear toe is MUCH better, at least it's EVEN now! This alignment is MUCH BETTER! more worthy of the $130 or any amount you paid because it's correct! The alignment before was half-done and you were right to question it! I'm glad it's fixed for you now, but I will never understand how lazy mechanics/technicians are getting lately. I now have to stand over people when they do an alignment like I'm hanging out watching over a 5 year old! But if that's what it takes, then I'll do it.

congrats on your new alignment!

What intrigues me is I only put 150 miles on the car inbetween the 2 alignments, and there is a difference of the "Final" on the initial alignment and the "Initial" on the second alignment. Lolz

yeah i saw that too, I bet the mechanic/technician didn't print out the results until he was half way through the alignment. I've gotten weird print outs like that before and then remembered he forgot to print it. So I just ask in the middle and he's like "oh ya I'll print you a copy".. lol
