Default Anything wrong with just replacing the rear shocks?

I've been dealing with a rear suspension rattle for some time now and have decided to replace my shocks. Question is, should I replace them all at once? I've found tokico shocks for about $340 for 4. Or, I could get Koni rear shocks for $270... I'm mostly interested in just saving money at this point... so is it ok if I just did the Koni's? What is everyone's opinion. Thanks as always.

PS... anyone in W. PA want to buy an 01 Audi S4 or 06 tC

But is that just your opinion, or a must? Money really is the most important thing here, as I'll probably sell it soon anyway.

then just but rear tokicos... it will be cheaper than koni's....

the handling might change.. but im not sure.. im assuming because tokicos and trd shocks are sportier (stiffer maybe?) i dont hink you will have a problem but on high speed cornering the handling could be different what you experienced with the old shocks. im not saying it will be a bad thing! get rear tokicos if you dont have money...

One, rattles are more a bushing problem than a shock problem. But I am assuming that you know the problem is with your shocks. Is it a must to replace all 4, probably not would it be recommended, most likely. I would say it would depend on miles on the car more than anything if you have 50k + go for all 4. You can just change the rears, but you will get much more predictable handling with all 4 replaced. I helped my friend replace only his rears on his 1987 Caviler and you could tell that the rear was staying in place like it was meant to but the front was moving around a lot more. If you can afford it do all 4.

You're going to have some pretty wonky geometry if you have completely different shocks up front than you do in the rear (especially if one side is OEM). This is a bad thing.

As 09tC said, this also assumes that you know the rattle is coming from the shocks. If you don't know for sure, you're probably wasting your money.
