i agree with the rears. they suck. you need ALOT of torque to get some of the bolts off. took me and a friend about 6 hours. But it was our first install. if you know what you are doing then it should take alot less.

im not talkin about the bolts, im talkin about the springs themselves. hotchkis springs have about 6 dead coils which make it VERY difficult to get the spring compressor in there.

An impact wrench will make those nasty bolts easy; a corded electric one will do fine, and those can be rented in many areas.

As for the rears being a pain, there's an alternate method I ended up using that makes them pretty simple. Initially I took the whole shock assemblies to Midas and had them swap the springs for me, but they didn't line up one of them right and it wouldn't fit back into the rest of the suspension. That's how I ended up trying the other way. Basically, you compress the spring by putting a jack under the control arm and jacking it up with the shocks/springs still on the car, rather than using a spring compressor. The thread I read on how to do it is here: LINK

Look for the post by Mr Meaty.

Only other annoying part of the rear springs is having to pull apart the hatch interior to get to the shocks. Wasn't much of an issue for me because I recently got good at that from putting in a ton of sound deadening mat.

Good luck!

the rear wasnt that bad, cuz you have s-techs, not hotckis. the bottom 6 coils on hotchkis are all dead... they have NO spaces between them. try gettin a spring compressor in there. not happening.

i have mine installed finally, WITH my Hotchkis sways.. Man, the ride is AWESOME!! Took the Shop 6 hrs for the whole thing. I waited.. ARG!! But i have to go back due to the creaking now...?????? Its not bad at high speeds, but when i hit a bump and it rebounds, them seems to crunch/creak pretty bad. I cant hear it outside the vehicle, but can feel it through the stearing wheel and inside the cab.??? This is after a day of driving it. the shop is great though. Anything happens they fix for free.... I didnt want to post pics yet due to the fact my rims are not on yet.. I wont put them on until this issue is resolved. Dont want to f-up my ADVANS....!!! NO WAY...
