BOUNCY SPRINGS on tC???
does anyone know which any lowering springs that are already release that is NOT bouncy like stock springs or TRD springs?? i like a smooth ride....
my first choice is TRD SPRINGS but some minor problem like it is more lowered in back than front, to me it is kinda wierd.....thats why i dont know any springs that are good....
pls. HELP i really interested buying some lowering springs to my tC.... i appreciate your help
P.S. SPRINGS THAT CAN LOWERED TO 1.2 TO 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8....something like that but 2.0 or lower than that is too much to me....

I find it odd when people say smooth ride and bouncy as if the two are seperate. It's bouncy because it's distributing the force over longer period of time rather than quick/violent jolt. If you want a lowered car with a comfortable ride, TRD springs and Hotchkis is what I'd recommend, unless you wish to replace the struts too.
And the different lowering heights is a nice thing to most people. Personally the rear end is too high as it is, it does a nice job of evening things out.

Springs only provide ride height. A shorter spring may allow better cornering, but that's only because the center of gravity on the car is now lower...True, a stiffer spring will mean it will take more force to push it down...
BUT
Shocks/Struts provide ride quality (bounce reduction/stiff cornering<-->soft compliant ride). Each manufacturer provides differing valving in the struts to create what THEY feel is the best compromise of the two...

If you're looking for suggestions on springs the comment made about "no more than 2 inches" is probably correct from the information given in other threads here.
The TRD (developed by Toyota) are about 1.5 inch drop.
The Teins are more, like about 1.75 inches.
I would recommend that if you're worried about ride comfort AND cornering ability, go with a strut and spring combo. They're most likely going to perform better than some "mixmatched" components.
Me? I'm saving for TRD. They're covered under warranty...

springs are designed to bounce, thats how they soak up bumps
struts/shocks are designed to dampen the spings bounce, so they dont pogo all over. when your ride is "bouncy" it does not have enough dampening, and thus needs a new/better shock.
springs only effect ride height and spring rate, or "stiffness" of the spring. shocks/struts provide compression and rebound resistance to the spring. with an adjustable shock you can control compression, or how fast the spring compresses, and rebound, how fast the spring returns to its uncompressed state, to your liking.
springs with higher spring rates will wear out an OEM shock quicker and you lose some of the dampening effect, giving you bouncy ride
