I didn't think it was important. I started the thread because I wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience with their brakes that I have had. That was it.

The tCs are going to get fixed one way or the other.

Cool, have repairs done from the damage from your accident at the collision center & feel free to delete your title of "manufacturer defect" as it has nothing to do with the manufactureing if your vehicle, it has to do with the repairs to your vehicle.

Are the brakes grinding or is the ABS actuating?

And it is not a manufacturer defect. The brakes worked, you got in an accident, the shop "fixed" the car and now you have a brake issue. It is related in some way to the wreck or an incomplete fix, not a manufacturer defect.

And no, brakes are not "supposed" to fail after a collision. The top isnt supposed to crush, but if you fall off a cliff upside down it will. The doors are not supposed to wrap around you.. but if you get t-boned by a semi they might. It is a wreck, all normal circumstances go out the window right there.

I dont see damage to the ABS "easily" happening during a rear end collision, unless it was very severe and somehow destroyed the wheel speed sensors. In that case, your ABS light would be on all the time most likely. But it can always happen.

As soon as I take the cars up to the Collision Center and get an accurate diagnoses of the problem, I will change the topic accordingly :D

I appreciate the words all the same.

Yeah, I figured there weren't many out there in the same situation, but was worth a post to see if there were.

Honestly, I just don't know a better way to describe what is happening. In a straight line (normal driving), brakes are fine, but in a turn, it's a repeated noise. The guy at the dealership seemed to know exactly what I was talking about, but I forgot the terminology he used to describe it. Something having to do with the mechnism that allows the rotor to tilt while in a turn is rubbing or grinding, or something like that. I can't remember exactly.

And my ABS light is not on.

Wheel Bearing is the most likely culprit. Thats what the w3rd at the moment is.

The bumper-to-bumper warranty will fix my wife's.

As I had my front end replaced a year ago, it might fall under that as a warranty on the repair. Or it might be out of pocket. I don't know.
