Default Brake Pads

I use my tC as a daily driving, but come this spring will starting using it for AutoX. I have selected my tires, I am going with Hankook RS-2s, but I want to know if anyone has any recommendations for brake pads.

Anyone else AutoX on here have any recommendations?

Nice choice of tires, I'm currently running the Azenis, but the Hawk +'s are good and I also hear good things from the EBC greens. Don't buy a full out race pad because the operating temperature on those is much hotter than you'll get to reach around the AutoX course.

Thanks for your input. I had a set of the RS-2s on my Nissan S12 and absolutely loved them.

I have heard good and bad things about EBCs, mostly because of build-up and dust ... but I will definitely look into Hawks.

Thanks again.

check out EBC. i had Greenstuff on my previous car, good pads, low dust. i went with Redstuff pads for the tC as this one gets more brake abuse, i love em!

also Axxis are great pads, in fact i have a front set new in box that i'm selling if you're interested.

for autocross, i highly recommend porterfield r4s. s is for street which differs from their R4 line for track racing. the r4s has a lot of bite, long life and best of all quick warm up temps.

on a track, you are constantly using your brakes for 20-25 minute sessions. at auto x, you're using it for no more than 90seconds then it has time to cool. spend the extra money and get a better brake pad. btw, hawk and raybesto as well as performance friction is made by porterfield and im using the raybestos st-41 for my track Z.

Carbotech AX6. I don't AutoX, but they have proven themselves in national competition. When you start going to events regularly, you'll notice many of the top cars in your region run them.

Click the AX6 link in my previous post, you can give them a call or email. They are usually quick to respond and the pricing seems to be reasonable for the compound of pads.
