Default Brake Pads

I am in the market for some new brake pads, I am approaching 50K miles and I think its about that time. I am wondering what everyone is using here, as far as aftermarket pads, on their tC.

My car is daily driven, with small amounts of track use, and I don't want to worry too much about dust or constantly cleaning my wheels.

Thanks guys.

If you don't want to worry about dust, stick with OEM pads.

Perhaps I should have said excessive dust. I don't mind some, the OEM pads have SOME dust.

Something that is a little better performing as well.

Well, you can't go wrong with Axxis or Hawk pads. I would recommend both.

I got the Axxis Ultimates and they are very dusty compared to stock. They are track pads though. I have to clean my wheels at least once a week and now after about two months they are squealing. I didn't even notice a change over the stock ones for street driving so I say skip the Ultimates.

Axxis Ultimates have great bite over OEM pads. Yes, they are a tad bit on the dusty side but I've had
mine for over a year and there is zero squeal. Highly recommend. Great pads for the $$$.

Strange since I don't have any complaints with mine. I've put over 70k+ on the Ultimates and love them. As for the dust it doesn't matter to me since I like the darker look of the rims.

The pads I'd say are a very big improvement over the stock pads. They do have much better bite than the stock units and are well priced.

I am contemplating on the Hawks for my next set (rears are starting to squeak now). I have them on my other vehicle and damn those thing stop on a dime.

A little update on my ultimates, I bled my brakes a few weeks ago and that made a huge difference but since I didnt bleed when I put on the ultimates I can't really say how much they help with the stopping. The brake feel is very good though so the ultimates aren't bad at all, just bleed after.

I agree with you sifu that on darker wheels brake dust isn't a huge problem. My black rims just look like flat black when they get dusty.

^^ yeah bleeding the old brake fluid is always a good idea to get more stopping power glad it worked out for you! I just got done bleeding mine and much better pedal modulation. it's hilarious that Toyota/Scion doesn't recommend replacing brake fluid at regular intervals.
Where Lexus calls for it every 30k miles, like honda does.

I think it should be mandatory to change brake fluid every 30k miles. Brake fluid is the same regardless of what car make it's in.

As I stated on a similar thread, I have been running Axxis Deluxe Plus for about 40,000 miles and 3 seasons of autox and have been very pleased. They are lower dust than the ultimates, and for anything short of road course use should suit you fine. Brakes are never an issue for me at an autox event, they do great.

Dezod sells them.

Actually dezod stopped carrying the deluxes a month or two ago cause I was gonna buy mine from them but I bought them somewhere else and ended up getting the ultimates so I just put those on.

Yes we did stop carrying Axxis. StopTech was the major USA distributor for Axxis and they stopped carrying the line, therefore we did consequently as well. However, we have a slew of pads that are comparable forumlas, better pricing and less dust than the Axxis lineup. See for yourself:
