Default brake replacement questions

i need to replace my brakes at 42k and don't want to take it to the dealership.. the local goodyear store employee said he would do it for $30 labor so what i need to get the parts... what parts do i need to get? is it just the rotors? what about the pads? and does anyone have a recommendation on the brand and where to get them? thanks

OEM brake pads, resurface rotors? thats the only things i can think of.
