I have about 12000 on my 2004-05 tc. My car has been squeaking for 2 months now. Loudest when reversing. In the begining of the two months the brake light flashed now its permanently on. Thought this was weird. Anyways I havent checked my brakes or taken it into the dealer. No time

So you are driving around with your brake light on???? Not smart at all. If it were on due to a leak, you would have lost your brakes by now. Those lights mean "hey, somethings wrong with me... check me out NOW"

The brake light means your fluid is low, there is an abnormal pressure differential (like a caliper is leaking) or your ebrake is on. Not a good idea to ignore it.

I'm at 16k and my Tc rear breaks squeak a little sometimes. I'm just going to let them ware out and get a break upgrade kit with new rotors, breaks, and SS lines. The kit is just over $500. But I agree, no 2 break pads are alike.

My first pair went at like 15k but I also drive 30 miles a day through hills. It also could be break dust getting in there and creating that noise. Spray the rotors down good, if it still occurs just bite the dust and get ceramic pads it's not worth trying to get more out of your brakes when you have the chance of waiting to long and then having to throw down 1k more.

Aargh mine has really been getting worse over the last month and I have such low mileage. I hate the sound of squeaking brakes more than anything.

Its just one of those things on new cars. I have seen expensive cars drive around with squeaky brakes for long periods. Asbestos was much better at preventing this.... but we know that had to go

But to those whose brake pads went in 16k... the only way that happened was from driving around with your foot resting on the brake or other bad habits. That is about 1/3 the life you should have gotten out of them.
