Default Camry Front Brakes?

I was looking around on the Scion Racing website at Dan Gardner's profile and saw that his road racing tC uses Camry brakes. The exact wording is "Custom Camry front brake/rotor upgrade".

I am wondering if anyone knows any details about this upgrade. It would be cool to get upgraded brakes off a Camry from a junkyard to help when I race.

Don't think I noticed that before. Last I knew he was running the TRD BBK.

Yup, TRD BBK: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=258639

The SR site is probably not up to date.

Is that the one for the Celica?

Regardless, I'd like to find out more info on the Camry brakes and if they'll bolt up without too much fabrication and add some stopping power.

I'm pretty sure the BBK he's running now is for the tC.

But ya, he must have run the Camry set at some point, if they're on the site. I'd say just PM him about it though...

If you're lucky, they'd be bolt on, but my guess is some sort of bracket was needed.

I shot him an e-mail and I'll post a response if I get one. I would imagine there is minor fabrication involved, but I want to look more into what the differences are between the tC and Camry bits (rotor size, pot size, etc.).

IIRC, they are from the Camry Hybrid. The bolt pattern doesn't match, which required modification, and custom brackets were fabricated for the calipers. I believe he switches between the TRD BBK and the Camry brakes due to rules in Grand Am versus NASA.
