Scion 18" Enkei rims with huge gouge (I got them cheap), wondering if its safe under intense cornering? will it pop or something? The people on this forum rule! '' thanks ahead of time.

 

U should be alright. Justs looks like some curb rash.

 

We had an xB tire blow out with similiar damage to the sidewall of the tire... the rim looks decently ok... it's the tire that is a bit shady.

 

thanks for the response guys. i didn't want to ask the dealer after they tried to sell me a s/c for my 2007. Now that I got the green light I'm gonna buy some BF Goodies to make up for the curb rash. Thanks!

When you have the tire replaced, it'd be a good idea to take a few minutes and grind the rim rash so that there are no sharp edges hitting the new tire.

agree with nod, you could grind the rough spots of the rim down and be even safer. Only way i could see you busting your tires is if you went with a weird size and the side wall came out laterally from the rim. Under extreme cornering you could cut the wheel.

Take the 5 minutes and just grind it down and you'll be solid
