wow this thread totally changed from what the topic was, but uhmm i am pretty sure i can close this arguement.. Have u guys watched the news lately?? About 90 percent of honda civic owners are complaining on the infamous 3rd gear grind that happens everytime.. I hear this from alot of people who have the civics, but i just did not beleive it until it actually made the news.. And what makes it worse is that honda is not even being accountable for it, not yet atleast. No recalls nothing.. Plus to me the car is ugly. Anyway im not a honda hater, i actually like civics, but based on those two cons, i chose the Tc. In fact i Love honda because of the s2k. Sucks that this might be the last year of production for that car.

god not this modded bs again.

This is trd tc vs si, not based on trim levels, not based on anything OTHER than whats stated.

Its a ridiculous thought that you consider the all Si's modded, even if they are sitting at the dealership stock.

If the tC should be compared to the dx, than this thread has no business being alive.

stock for stock, si wins..
cash for cash, si wins..
Again Honda Fanboy @ work AGAIN......

stock versus stock = tC versus Civic DX (NOT Si.)(get ur facts straight. I repeat goto kelly blue book and check YOUR PRICE FACT COMPARISONS)

cash for cash = TRD tC versus Si (or aftermarket modded tC)
(Fact check here: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/CompareCars/R...=196249-223789)

BOTH CASES tC WOULD WIN! END OF STORY
ah yes, ignorance is bliss.

drove my friends 2007 si last night which he just bought i was impressed, it handles very good for a civic definatley better then our cars stock, but i did a trd front strut and trd springs and the handeling is just as good as the si. As for the power bang for the buck the car is there, just as our tc's are there from the factory the question is how much buck do you wnt to spend, and do you want to mod your car to 200hp or do you want to buy it from the factory that way, One thing the SI does have goin for it though is the seats are ultra comfortable

Isn't it kind of silly when consider the fact that a stock SI is priced higher than that of a TC? So indeed, you have to spend a X amount of money to get to a leveled playing ground. With that said, it is start up cost that is the main driver.

yea.. i agree, this thread was a big mistake, some tc owners think their cars are amazing so they are gonna say its better than a si...so to handle just as good as an SI you need the sway bars and lowering springs on the tc

Better late than never right?...

First off the Si and the tC shouldnt be compared in an outright test anyways. The Si's powerband is developed for a completely different style of driving than the tC and the redline and horsepower rating making that pretty obvious. Secondly, the glass roof of the tC would only be a huge disadvantage if you were running some sort of weight saving setup in the lower 75% of the car. The Civic Si comes standard with a power one touch sunroof, which looses some structural rigidity in the long run, so the difference isnt as huge as everyone wants to make it out.

Working for a Honda dealership, I've had more than my share of spirited outting with the Si, and have to say its an enjoyable enough ride, if youre a HP kinda guy. (You have to rev the hell out of an Si to actually tap into the power) On ANY kind of road race or autcross category, with the trd suspension bits (since the Si's suspension is sport tuned 98% to the level of the Mugen Si), the tC will run anywhere from a hundredth to a tenth of a second faster because of the exit speed it can maintain based on the lower power band. That being said:

DRIVE WHAT YOU LIKE AND IGNORE THE NUMBERS!!! Anyone got a hotchkis sway bar set theyre trying to get rid of!? lol
