F&F type-2 hands down, mine are pretty comfortable or at least they are to me. sure they don't go really low but i didn't get mine to be slammed so that doesn't matter to me unlike others...

thanks i had a feeling that one was better overall. i wont be slamming. these roads over here are bad and i just just barely dropped with TRD springs..

i just hate the TRD spring and stock shocks. surprised it lasted this long. 30k miles and going.

I had TRD springs on stock shocks for about 19K and no problems. Now I'm lower with B&G RS2 coilovers and wouldn't change for [almost] anything else. Also check out BC coilovers, make some calls or PM vendors here for pricing, they can also slam when you get that itch for it. But if it has to be of the three listed then FF Type-2.

What do you want to accomplish?
Drop?
Ride?
Handling?

im just going to get FF type-2. im not looking for drop. i might even go a little higher then TRDs to save my car...

main reason is that im doing this is my rear shocks are dying (i think going to get it check out at a friends garage)

but handling would be so much better overall.

I was on FF type 1, Man it got bad really quick. I was maxed maxed out in the rear and fronts were leveled to match and they were slightly used but still. I just ordered a set of BC Racing type BR coilovers (With EDK), From what i've seen in person from friends and people in Houston's car scene, the best bang for the buck. Top notch build quality and the rebuild is only 95 bucks for each shock after the 1 year warranty.

I say FF2, I have them on my car, have had them for a good 40K miles, and I love them. I have also heard Great things about BR coilovers as well.

If you're not going lower, don't waste your money. Get some good quality struts, like Koni or Tokico, and good quality springs like Eibach Proline. They have a mild drop.

Most of the coil over companies don't even publish their spring rates. That would lead be to believe the majority are just built for looks, which to me is a waste of money.

Personally, I use Koni yellow inserts with Ground Control. I daily drive the car, and autocross it (just won regional champ over an Imprezza, beating AWD in the rain...)

^The spring rates for most of them are known, and a chart was made but think needs updating though. Even then a call to the company can solve that. Even then if one really wants a setup to handle they'd go with a coilover that has a higher rear spring rate instead of the even 8k F/R that many offer(which Function Form uses). One really has to do their homework if they're wanting a functional setup.

What he said!

The only coil overs I would use on my auto crosser are KW. I would probably change the springs to suit my taste though, but they are HIGHLY recommended among RACERS.

Because ff-2s aren't for slamming your car. If you want to slam get racelands.

^This, slam AND a good ride Raceland does not offer. It's just temporary, there's posts about having to go through shock replacements, and multiple times. That setup just can't handle it, you need something where the ride height adjustment is INDEPENDENT of spring preload to get low and maintain a comfortable ride. You see them now changing their setup to BC BR or Stance or B&G.

If I recall, the rears slam on the FF Type-2s, the front's don't. The FF Type-1 the fronts slam, the rear not so much.
