Definitive Ground Control thread
OK, so now that the Koni yellows are out for the tC, I want to know what the word is on the Ground Control sleeve kits. I've read through the handful of threads where people gave their opinions on these sleeve kits, but there hasn't been a really good thread about this kit or from anyone that has the application on the tC.
I know that a lot of people use the Konis with the Ground Controls, but then I hear of people saying the GCs suck. So, what's the deal? I need some opinions on the GCs and the Koni/GC setup. The setup would end up costing around $1000, so that's as much as a coilover set, so I need to know if all of this will be worth it in the end.
Edit: Also, will GC make an application that has the Koni shocks with the sleeve kit so I won't have to purchase them seperately? Is there any advantage to this over piecing it together?

i have the ground control setup on my tc. its ok, but the adjustability in ride hight is not what i expected. my front is all the way down on the perch but its no where near as low as the back. i'm only able to tuck the rear. now i'm saving up for the teins. i shoulda just bought them in the first place. overall though, if you don't want to go stoopid low, they are perfect
gc oh my old car handled really well matched with illuminas and neuspeed front rear sway bar and front and rear tie bar, but there was 1 major thing wrong with them. when you take turns at high speeds and hit a bump the coils jump and rub on the threads, after around 5k miles the sides of the gc threads where gone, they still worked but you couldnt move it up or down anymore. this happen on a accord, i never seen it happen to integras or civics. so i am not sure if it will happen with tc
The thing is, Creativecompacts sells a set of Ground Control sleeves for under $500, that's suppose to work w/ stock struts.
$500 is a lot more affordable than $1,000 or so for real coilovers.
I still dont' see any definitive answers on this one. I was planning on getting springs on stock struts. But since Ground controls's are relatively inexpensive, thought maybe it would be better to go that route? (I was planning on buying TRD or Htech springs).
So, when you can't afford coilovers, what would be better, just springs, or Ground Control? Does anyone out there have any experience w/. Ground control on tc? Anyone?
