Default eibach pro kit/trds/hotchkis/h&r???

i want to upgrade my suspension first with lowering springs. i dont want a drastic drop like the tanabes and teins. so its between eibach and trd. eibach has 1.2 -1.4' drop and trd has 1 to 1.25' drop. someone posted that trd is made by eibach. is it true? plus does anyone have eibachs on their tcs? if anyone could help me thatll be great. thanks in advance.

yes it is tru! eibach are TRD's. I was talking to a Scion parts dealer and he was telling me that eibach makes the springs, TRD puts their name on them! So its pretty much the same! Have you thought about Hotchkins springs? Hotchkins lowers it about 1.7" front & 1.9-2.0" rear! it has a bigger drop in the rear to level the car out! Its not as much as the TEINS but im not a fan on TEINS either! Its also a bit more than TRD! Heres a topic with some pics on TEINS, TRD's & Hotchkins springs! https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...693&highlight=

thanks for the reply. i've thought about the hotchkins springs. its right between the trd and teins. decent drop but still its above 1.5' so im gonna have to replace the shocks/struts sooner than a mild drop you know?. i also dont wanna experience rubbing. do you have springs on your tc?

Go with which ever one you can find for a cheaper price.

I've never heard of anyone having rubbing issues with the TRD drop on stock wheels. I have a lower drop with coilovers on stock wheels and dont have rubbing issues.

nah not yet! in about 1-2 weeks i will go with the hotchkins! TRD has a good drop but still kinda looks the same! and like "shinkuu" said, go with the ones cheaper and the ones you would like the best! search this site for pics with all types of springs! the one that caught my eye was this SSW tC with hotchkins! heres the page >>>https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...536&highlight= After i saw that i switched from TRD to Hotchkins! I found a set of Hotchkins for $150 with free shipping? Great price to me! TRD's will run you around $130-40? ebay has some too! and yeah you will have to replace the shocks & struts sooner but i would still get the Hotchkins? But thats my opinion you need to go with what you think you will be happy with? If you have the money go with some coilovers? Its worth it in the long run! Just in case you show off you car you can slamm it and when you start driving again, put it at the height you like? N e ways, keep us posted on whatcha get! Good luck!

If eibach does make the TRD springs that doesnt mean they are the same ride height. The eibachs are 1.4'' while the TRD's are 1.25"? Id go for the Eibachs for being slightly lower but thats totally just me.

last month i checked the site and yes it said 1.4" drop but i checked again and i guess they were wrong cause now it says 1.2" drop. its almost a $100 price difference for .2" difference. i might go with hotchkins. im also interested with H&R springs but not as much of a difference with the trds. i really cant decide on which one since i have yet to see a tc with eibach or h&r springs.

if anyone has the eibach pro kit or the h&r springs please post pics. thanks!

I sell all of them and ended up with H&R. My buddy has a tC with Teins and says he hates it compared to mine. Basically said mine rides much smoother over bumps, but still feels stiffer around corners. I guess it comes down to spring rates, but the H&Rs are one of the most expensive springs you can buy, and for a reason. The quality and easy of installation (no spring compressor needed) is well worth it.

The reason they're expensive is because they're made in Germany.

And what do you mean by "no spring compressor needed"? How exactly are you going to get the factory spring off and the new one on??

You've never seen a zero preload spring? MkIV Supras need no compressor for removal or installation. It sounds like H&R chose a spring rate that needs no preload to work.

I simply just loosen it with a ratchet until the stock one's pop off. It's not too big of a deal, I just put a cardboard box in front to take the impact. From there you can put the stock lids back on the H&R springs by yourself if you want, and just simply tighten and install.

Being made in Germany is one cost factor yes, but if you install or ride it, you'll know what I mean. They feel great, like the car was meant to be that way.

OK,

Looks like the H&R's would fit the bill for me. I am interested in an improved ride over stock. Where do you get these babies? I know tire rack does not list them for the tc at all.
