$463 is a little much.

A buddy of mine who used to own a tC can do the install for you for half that price. I'll give him a call and let you know in a PM. He lives in Redondo Beach, not too bad of a drive... i'll roll with you if you want.

As for the struts, you'll eventually need to change them when they blow. I have Goldline springs (2.25 inch drop) and my stock shocks blew after a few months. I've since upgraded to TRD shocks and couldn't be happier.

also remember that when, not if, but when your stock shocks blow out prematurely because you're mating them to a spring they aren't designed for, that you'll have to pay a shop AGAIN to do the install to replace the struts, so try not to get raped so hard the first time around, because it'll only make the second time that much worse....

and $460 is way too much for springs... they're charging you about double what the springs cost in just labor to do the install, and at mechanical labor, that's about 4hrs of work, and in reality, an unskilled technician without air tools could do it by themself in half that time, a good shop that throws one guy on each corner could get the car out the door in 30mins, but most shops not only don't have 4 competent mechanics they trust to install suspensions, but they also don't think outside to box to get the job done faster, they would rather put 1 man on a suspension job while the other 3 competent mechanics are stuck doing oil/brake pad/tire rotations

$463 sounds reasonable for parts and labor, plus an alignment... Figure $200 for the springs and $70 for the alignment... you are paying around $200 for install then. Not cheap... but not outrageous. I'd say its reasonable.
